Bella's pov

I woke up to find myself and Paul tangled in my purple sheets. My leg was draped across Pauls legs, was bare while the sheet was wrapped around my bare chest. The only part of Paul that was covered was his waist to mid thigh.

I traced my fingers across his chest following the lines of his chest. I must only have been asleep for a few minutes or so, because when I looked at the clock last it had 2:03 now it was 2:38.

I groaned and cuddled deeper into Paul. Until I heard it. The glass being smashed and a creak on the steps. I was upright instantly.

Paul sat up with me and rubbed his eyes. "Bella, what's wrong?" He asked groggily due to being awoken by my sudden movement.

"There is something in my house" my bro ice cracked and anxiety began to make its way through me. My eyes grew blurry and my breathing increased. Paul sat up and sniffed the air impatiently.

Then he froze. "Impossible" he gasped and instantly he was up and he had on his jean shorts. "P..Paul? " I asked. He shook his head. "I'm going to find out how he is still alive... I swear to you Bella I killed him" he rambled before crouching in front on me. I was still wrapped in the sheet and sitting in the corner of my bed shaking violently. "Bella stay here. Don't move" he handed me his phone before uttering his next command. "Phone Sam and tell him... Joshua is alive" he whispered the words confusedly.

My eyes widened. Joshua was alive and he was here... My chest tightened and I gripped the phone to my chest. Fear was mixed in with the anxiety creating a killer feeling of helplessness.

"Paul, please... Please don't leave me" I begged. I needed to be stronger but I felt broken...

Paul shook his head and kissed me before leaving and locking the door. I stood up and pulled the sheet tighter around me. Walking backwards I didn't hear the footsteps of someone climbing through my window , until my back hit a body.

I froze and turned around slowly and gasped as I saw the man that plagued my ver dreams.

"Oh Bella... Still sleeping with the mutt. Tsk tsk" he grinned evilly. Then he grabbed the sheet and ripped it off. He gripped my waist and pulled me into his clothes body. I slammed my fists repeatedly against his chest and wriggled around in hopes to get him off me.

His hands traveled. My thigh, bum, back and finally he gripped my hair. I was forced to face him. Swallowing hard, I looked into his lust filled eyes. Pain radiated through my scalp. It was so harsh I couldn't help the whimper that left my throat.

Joshua smirked and then slammed his lips over my parted ones. He forced his tongue in my mouth. I began to struggle again.

He forced me down on my bed. "PAUL " I screeched when he finally released me. I felt rather than saw his fist connect with my face. I bit my cheek and tasted blood. "I will kill him... The longer he stays out the room... The longer he lives" Joshua whispered in my ear. He straddled me on the bed and bent down as he said the words.  I shivered and started to struggle. I tried to knee him in the balls but he wasn't having any of that. He brought his fist down on my temple and all fight stopped.

"Paul" I whimpered. Joshua smiled at me and stood up off me.

"See how easy it is for me to have you. Soon Bella you will give me your body. Soon" was the last thing I heard before he disappeared.

The last thing I saw was Paul bursting through the door.

Pauls pov

I was always to late. I could smell him everywhere on her. Bella was knocked out an there where new bruises mixing in with the old ones. I was always to late. If I had come back instead of running through the damn woods after a damn scent distraction... If I had just not left her alone. I was making sure to be the worst mate it seemed.

It broke my heart knowing that the Bella I had got to know was slowly disappearing.

But what baffled me was... How the hell was Joshua a live ?
