Prep. For Micks Surprise

Mick has just woken up in his bed, he looks at his ring on his finger, starts to tear up  and fiddles with it..and looks to Lindas side to see it empty, he then looks over to the corner of the room to see Ollie's toy elephant and starts to well up, he gets up and grabs the toy, goes back to bed and holds it close to his chest
Shirl catches a glimpse of Mick in his bedroom and enters
Mick, u alright
I miss them you know...Lee's gone, Nancys been gone for over a year now, my little Ollie, I haven't seen him in months, and my wife my beautiful wife...I'm lost mum
Do you know when Linda is coming back, has she contacted you?
She just doesn't know, at this rate probably won't see her this Christmas either
Mick starts to sniffle and cry
Shirl approaches the bed, sits on it next to Mick and pulls his head close to her chest
It all gonna be alright you'll see, they'll all be back before you know it son
Mick continues to sob in her arms
Thanks mum, I dunno what I would have done if u weren't here
Shirl smiles
That's what mums are for..yeah?
Mick nods
You know how much they all care about you
Yeah I do
Shirl gets up and walks off and turns back to see Mick with his head in his hands

Shirl phones Nancy and sees if it's possible at all that she can return
She questions Tamwar and eventually agrees to come back soon whilst tam already has plans to go to Pakistan to see his family
Nancy mentions if Elaine is getting better then says 'Why don't we surprise him and and everyone else and me, Linda and ollie all come back at the same time, cos I've been messaging mum and she says she's almost ready to come home but wasn't gonna tell mick cos she wanted to surprise him'
Yeah that would be amazing, back where you belong, it would your dad especially
Why what's up with Dad
He's just really down and he's not been the same since Christmas really, with Linda, Ollie and now Lee being away ive never really seen him like this, don't get me wrong recently he's be getting there but he's still not right I can tell
Ahhh Well I'll get in contact with mum and see what I can do, hopefully be there in the next few days

Mick overhears the ending,
who was that mum
Nothing just a guy about a delivery
Ahh right what delivery
Errrm a crisps one
Riiight muva we already have enough crisps
Shirl smiles and doesn't say anything
Mick has a suspicious face as he walks off

Shirl gathers Tina n Johnny about the surprise, urges they don't speak a word of it to Mick

Mick questions Shirley's happy mood

Well maybe I'm just in a good mood, Shirl walks off as mick ponders

'Does he suspect' says Tina
Nope not at all, we just gotta keep it low til they arrive, I can't wait to see his face when they walk through the door
Yeah me too, he's just lost without them and I've em told Nance to message your Dad about her being in NY, which she isn't, so he doesn't suspect
