Someday the flowers will wither. But no, not today

"Why do you want to be an actress?" He posed the question without much interest, looking rather bored where he sat in his chair.

"Why do you ask?" She leaned back into the couch, crossing her legs in feigned nonchalance.

"Just answer the question," he deadpanned.

"Because I have a passion for the art—"

"Don't lie. I know when you lie, Lee Sorim. Now give me the real answer."

She grit her teeth. "It's because...sometimes I really need to not be me, even if it's just for an hour or two. That's why I want to be an actress. Because I get to live the life of someone else...I get to be happy, just for a little while," she admitted, lowering the pages in her hands to look at the man across from her.

"So what exactly is this drama about?" Yoongi broke character and squinted oddly at Chaerin as he laid down the sample script he had been reading from.

"You've been reading this with me for the past twenty minutes," Chaerin exclaimed with a chuckle and rolled her eyes teasingly. "It's about a girl who is trying to become an actress and she meets this man who—" she stopped explaining when Yoongi very blatantly yawned.

It was tad rude to yawn in the middle of someone's sentence but at least he had the decency to attempt covering it with the pages of the sample script. Chaerin rolled her eyes and threw her own script on the coffee table. She'd been practicing the lines on her own but reading lines alone wasn't very good practice, so Chaerin managed to convince Yoongi to read with her. He was a terrible actor and he knew it, but at least when she asked for help he tried.

"Well as thrilling as this script is, can we take a break? I'm exhausted," he told Chaerin as he shut his eyes, hoping to fall asleep. The part time delivery job he'd gotten recently took a lot of energy out of him, and of course he still had gigs at night sometimes.

Sadly, his attempted nap was cut short when a pillow hit him in the face. His eyes sprung open and zeroed in on Chaerin. She was sitting on the couch, looking perfectly innocent, but he knew better.

"Yah Chaerin, did you throw a pillow at me?" One of his eyebrows quirked.

"Of course not, why would you say such a thing?" She gasped in feigned offense.

Yoongi squinted at her. "Yeah...okay."

He sat back, pretending to relax while he secretly grabbed the corner of the pillow that had hit him. Hearing Chaerin's muffled snicker, and knowing that she thought she got away with it, Yoongi waited until she turned around to chuck the pillow right back at her.

Chaerin froze when a pillow whacked the back of her head. Yes, she believed it happened; Yoongi had retaliated. That meant war.

She whirled around and grabbed another small pillow from the couch, hurling it at Yoongi. Unfortunately for her, he caught it before it could smack him and jumped out of his chair, sprinting after Chaerin. Their game of cat and mouse took them all around the apartment. They used the furniture as shields from the pillow-bombs and any item of clothing, scrap of paper, or stray candy wrapper became ammunition for their war.

It all wound down to a stalemate when Yoongi and Chaerin hid on opposite sides of the couch. Having wrecked the living room and run out of ammunition they ended up calling a truce. The two of them sat side by side on the double mattress that was tucked into the corner of the living room, looking around at their seriously messed up apartment.
