He pets the kitten

Kiyoto stared in shock. This boy had...cat ears.

Shion's face turned bright red. The boy scrambled back until his back lay flush against the bed's headboard. "S-sorry! Sorry!" Kiyoto just continued staring in disbelief. Before now he hadn't even known that people with cat ears existed, and now...just when he thought the boy couldn't get any cuter...

"D-don't tell anyone! You can't tell! You can't!" Shion was screaming at him furiously, fluffy ears pinned down flat against his head. 

"I-I won't!" Kiyoto shook his head. The boy continued to quiver from his place against the headboard. Kiyoto had the thought that this boy wasn't just scared of people knowing about his kitty ears... Kiyoto knew that he must be downright terrified. But he couldn't figure out why - this kid was already beyond adorable to begin with, but when you added on those cute kitty ears of his? How could someone so irresistible be so terrified of the consequences of people finding out about him. Or, how could someone hurt such an adorable little boy in the first place. Suddenly, Kiyoto had an idea.

"Shion." the boy flinched, curling his legs to hide his face. "Did someone put that collar on you, because they saw you're ears?" again, he flinched at the sound of Kiyoto's voice. But after a long moment he finally gave a slight nod of the head, so subtle it was hardly even noticeable. "And there's also something else I've been wondering as well." Shion seemed to tense up, even trembling as Kiyoto took slow steps towards where Shion lay curled up. Kiyoto released a silent breath. This boy had been bullied horribly, and most likely not only at this school either. Kiyoto hoped that by doing this he didn't ruin their chances of becoming close to one another. Carefully, he reached out a hand and touched one of the boy's fluffy cat ears. "Wow! They really are soft!"

"Huh?' Shion looked up, seemingly surprised at the gentle contact. Kiyoto continued rubbing the fluffy ear, massaging and caressing it. The boy seemed to still be straining against something, Kiyoto guessed he was still pretty scared of him.

"Well, I've never seen someone with cat ears before. I was just wondering if they felt like a normal cat's, but they don't feel like any cat I've ever pet - they're way softer and fluffier!"

"You-you're not...disgusted by them" Shion looked up at him with those trembling blue eyes, looking as if he was almost scared to hope that Kiyoto wouldn't hurt him. 

"No, in fact I actually really like them. They make you look a lot cuter."

"I even have a tail, you know." he blurted out. Pulling out what had to be the fluffiest tail he had ever seen. Kiyoto didn't even have to touch it to know that it was probably the softest thing on this planet.

"You're not scaring me off, Shion. My opinion hasn't changed one bit. I do not hate you."

"R-really?" Shion was now tentatively leaning into his touch, uncurling from his previous position and scooting a little closer to face Kiyoto. 

"Really. And don't worry, I won't tell anyone, okay?"

"Okay." the boy yawned, probably too tired to question. Kiyoto didn't blame him, he couldn't imagine all the stress he must have been put through that day. A sudden wave of exhaustion suddenly came over Kiyoto as well. 

"I think I'm just gonna rest here for a bit." The boy nodded in response, making room as Kiyoto lay down and stretched out on the bed. A few minuted passed before Kiyoto felt a gentle weight settle upon him. He opened his eyes to find that Shion had crawled on top on him, curling up with his head on Kiyoto's chest. For some reason, Kiyoto felt oddly satisfied about that, and placed a hand on the small boy's head, stroking him and massaging around the ear base. Kiyoto felt a strange rumbling on his chest, realizing that the boy laying on him could actually purr. He chuckled to himself, his hand working and rubbing Shion's large fluffy ear and enjoying as the boy leaned into his hand, seeming to melt into his touch.
