He belonged to someone. The thought raced over and over through Shion's head, seeming to block out everything else. He barely remembered feeling the sting of disinfectant on his hand, or being bandaged, yet again, by the guy who said he'd own him. Shion was confused, though. Never in his life had he ever wanted to belong to someone - just because he had cat ears and a tail didn't mean that he was made to be somebody's 'pet'. But whenever he thought of Kiyoto...he didn't feel disgusted. When he thought of belonging to Kiyoto, Shion didn't feel like running away. It made his heart feel so strange, he was scared of what it could mean, or what it might do to him. Shion pushed away those strange feelings. He decided that no matter the cost he would make himself be content with being Kiyoto's property. He decided that no matter what, he would never become a hindrance to his new friend.
With that mentality, Shion made his way back to school. With the events of last night he'd only had a couple hours to catnap at home, but he supposed he'd just have to make the best of it and be ready for when Kiyoto called for him. They'd exchanged numbers last night, so Shion kept his phone close to him at all times.
By the time Shion reached his homeroom class was had already been in session for a few minutes. "Hello." he mumbled as he walked in.
"Shion." the teacher scolded him. "I know you're new here so I'm going to let you off the hook, but you absolutely cannot make this a pattern, alright? This class time is crucial to your education, young man."
"Yes, teacher." Shion said as he took his seat by the window. The teacher was so annoying. Why did he always insist that if you lost one minute of class, you'd automatically fail. Not every student here was as stupid as he was when he was still in school. Shion sighed, perching his chin on his hand and staring out at the sky. What he wouldn't give to just take a nice long nap, right outside under that one tree. There was a nice breeze going on, so the tree would be gently swaying above him, letting in enough sun to be nice and warm, but still shaded so that the bright light didn't disturb him or make him warmer than comfortable. The only sound would be the birds singing and the rustling of the grass and trees...insects would be chirping very quietly...so peaceful...
"SHION!" a shout and a loud bang on in front of him. Shion shouted in alarm, tipping out of his chair as he lost his balance. "Sleeping in class is prohibited! One of these days you're going to miss something very important and it'll be all you're fault!" Dazed, Shion looked at the mostly empty room. The few students left were snickering at the scene unrolling before them. Shion blushed in embarrassment. "Are you hearing me Shion?"
"Yes, teacher." Shion replied, peering out from under the chair that had ended on top of him.
"Now come on, it's time to lunch. Maybe something to eat will wake you up." Shion gave only a sleepy grunt in recognition, heading out of the classroom as a couple of girls pointed and whispered. "What?" Shion asked.
The girls paused for a second before one gushed out "Sorry, but you're just so cute!" Shion tilted his head. "Oh my god!" the girls were now squealing. "Hurry! Hurry!" "I know!" "Hey, can we take your picture?" "Stay just like that!"
"Like...this?" Shion again tilted his head inquiringly, much to the girls' delight. After roughly a minute of head tilting for various pictures, the still sleepy Shion headed up onto the school's roof. It wasn't under that tree as he would've liked, but Shion was still glad to have a quiet place to take a warm nap. He was just getting very comfortable, curled up on top of the stairwell entrance, when he heard someone large come up beside him and start rubbing his ears.
"I was wondering where my little kitty had gotten to." Shion opened his eyes to see Kiyoto crouching over him.
"Hi, Kiyoto." He responded through a large yawn.
"Well, I was going to ask you why you never responded to my text message, but I guess now I know the answer." Kiyoto let out an easy laugh.
"Text message? Oh, sorry, sorry-"
"No need. It was just a request to join me for lunch. Even though now I seem to have ended up joining you, it's no problem." Kiyoto sat down beside Shion, pulling back his hood and rubbing his ears. Shion let out a tired moan, settling back into his nap. Meanwhile Kiyoto opened up his packed lunch, pulling out a cake when Shion suddenly sat straight up beside him. "Wagh!" the guy cried out as Shion pounced on his arm, staring greedily at the slice of heaven held right before him. "Shion, calm down!"
Shion, scolded, immediately calmed back down, opting to sit glued to Kiyoto's side. He was staring at the piece of cake so intensely that Kiyoto started to get a little uncomfortable. "Uh, Shion?" Shion flicked his eyes to Kiyoto, then back to the cake, then back to Kiyoto, then again back to the cake, repeating until Kiyoto finally caved. "Uh, Shion...do you maybe, want my cake...?"
"Can I? Can I really?" Shion looked at Kiyoto, surprised.
"Yeah, sure. Just say 'ah'".
"Ah~" Shion complied, holding his mouth open as the somewhat shocked Kiyoto put a small piece of cake inside Shion's open mouth, the tips of two fingers accidentally slipped in along as well. "Oops, sorry!" Shion apologized cheerfully, letting Kiyoto pop the digits back out. "You still have some cake on your fingers though." Shion mused. "Want me to get it for you?"
"Uh, what?" Without further invitation the Shion leaned over and playfully licked the food from Kiyoto's fingers.
"There, all clean!" he smiled brightly, tail waving playfully.
"You..." Shion cocked his head in question.
"I...what? Did I do something wrong? I didn't overstep, did I? I'm sorry, I was really only playing..."
"Yeah, no no. It's fine!" Kiyoto laughed, making Shion smile. He was happy just to see that guy happy. "You really like cake, don't you?"
Now Shion was laughing too. "Yup!"
