He owns a kitty

A couple of weeks had passed since that day on the rooftop, and each day was getting harder than the last. He and the kitty had a routine now. Kiyoto would leave his friends, making up some excuse about a girl to get away before going up to the rooftop. There, the boy would be waiting for him on top of the stairway exit, bathing in the sun. Kiyoto would, of course, notice that adorable open face and take a minute to get himself back under control before making his presence known and joining him. He would always pet the boy's fluffy ears and stroke his tail, warmed from being in the sun. Kiyoto also made sure to always bring cake with him. It was their thing, he guessed. Cake on the rooftop. Although now Kiyoto always made sure his fingers steered clear of the boy's mouth. That one time had almost been too much for him to handle. Kiyoto would also notice the smell of perfume on the boy, too. From what, he didn't know, although for some reason the thought of Shion having a girlfriend gave him a weird feeling, deep down in his gut.

For this ridiculous reason, Kiyoto had now decided to follow Shion. He knew the boy's classroom, so a few minutes before class ended he excused himself from the boring lecture and made his way down to the first year halls. He walked around until he found the right classroom, staking out just the right spot that would enable him to keep a clear eye on his tiny kitten. The bell rang, releasing the students for lunch and Kiyoto backed against the wall, hoping to look as inconspicuous as possible for a six foot three school idol.

He only had to wait a few seconds before Shion came out of the classroom...surrounded by girls. Kiyoto saw him as he led them to a small nearby corner which could only be seen from Kiyoto's spot and watched on with horror as he took off his hood. Immediately the girls began getting exited and Shion had to put a finger over his lips to quiet them down. He then whispered something, looking frightened before the girls all nodded sympathetically and moved closer around him, hugging and petting the small boy. Then they took lots of pictures. The girls said something, showing him a couple things on their phone and Shin visibly calmed down, even smiling for a few snapshots. Finally, he couldn't take it anymore. Kiyoto walked calmly into the corner where Shion was surrounded by the herd of females and, to all of their surprise, grasped Shion's hand and kissed him on the cheek. Kiyoto put a finger over his lips, giving the girls a quick wink before pulling Shion's hoodie back over and leading him back up to their usual spot on the roof.

"Wait, Kiyoto!" Shion exclaimed as soon as they got to the roof. "What was that about?"

"Hm?" Kiyoto replied in casual question, crossing his arms as he leaned against the wall beside the door. "What was what about? If anything I should be the one asking that question." Now it was Shion's turn to be confused.

"What do you mean?"

"Showing people you're ears, Shion. What was that all about." that made the boy pause for a second. Kiyoto felt kind of bad, praying that he wasn't being too rough with the boy. But he just couldn't help the clenching he had about those girls.

"Oh, that.." Kiyoto waited for him to go on. "Well, I just thought it would be kinda nice for more people to know..."

Kiyoto raised an eyebrow "Why? So that you might be bullied again? Hurt again?" Shion flinched and paled at Kiyoto's harsh response...what in the hell was he even doing? The boy had done nothing to deserve those words... Kiyoto needed to find out what he really felt for the boy. He needed to figure it out soon too before his indecision harmed the boy any further.

"I was doing it so you wouldn't have to be alone..." Kiyoto's entire train of thought shattered at that. And it must have shown on his face because the boy went on. "I didn't want you to be the only good person who knows my secret...I didn't want you to feel like you had the shoulder everything by yourself." Again, Kiyoto could only stare. This entire time, the boy was only looking out for his well being... the boy continued "You've been looking kind of tired lately, like you're straining or something...it was probably about me, so I just wanted to help by taking some of the pressure off you. I'm sorry if I made it worse..." Oh the boy didn't know just how much worse he had made it. But at point Kiyoto couldn't bring himself to care.
