"I'm going out for a jog, Bjoo!"
I hear Bjoo say bye and I walk out the door. It's been three weeks since I last talked to Xero and honestly, I feel really shitty. I know it's not my fault that he left or had feelings for me, but still. He was, still is, my best friend.
I get to the park and set a timer for ten minutes. I start to jog around the park area. I haven't really been keeping up with myself lately. I've also been calling into work a lot. I hear my name in the distance and stop. I turn around and squint my eyes to see who was calling me. Kidoh? He's sitting on a park bench that I just jogged by. I roll my eyes and start jogging again.
I hear him call my name again. I stop, knowing I shouldn't have. I turn around slowly, and see him running to catch up with me. He stops in front of me and looks sympathetic. "Can I please talk to you one more time? One last time?" He pleads. I scoff. "In your dreams." I turn back around. "I played you. I broke your heart. I never really loved you." He says out loud.
My heart is broken. Kidoh broke it a little more. I already knew all these things, but hearing him say it. It hurt a fucking lot. I turn around and look at him. "I am sorry. Hansol, I am so so sorry for what I did. I can't change it. You loved me with everything you had. I gave you nothing. I should not have have put you through that."
"Yeah but you did, Kidoh. You did."
I say, as soft tears come out of my eyes.
He nods shamefully and looks at the ground. "I know. I just want you to know that you are so perfect, Hansol. It took me so long to realize." I heard his voice crack and I look closer at him. He's crying.
"I didn't know what I had until I lost it. You were so sweet, lovable, precious, and loyal. I would try my hardest to win you back, but you deserve the whole world. I hope you find someone who loves you unconditionally."
I don't know what to say. All this time I just thought Kidoh was some heartless boy who used me. Well, he was. Now, he's genuinely apologizing. I never thought this day would come. Kidoh wipes his tears and turns his head to something behind me.
"He has."
