"I feel like I'm going to die when hyung is sad. When hyung is in pain, it hurts more than when I'm in pain."
As the rules of the game stated, everyone re-lit their candles that previously were blown out and proceeded to walk through the decrepit house. The only sounds that could be heard in the abandoned building were the creaking of the old floorboards and the soft sound of the music that could just barely be heard from Jin's house. So far, everything in the midnight game seemed normal. The candles were all still lit, and none of the signs of the Midnight Man being near were experienced by any of the members.
"Get outttttt" A ghastly voice whispered in the space, haunting enough to send chills down anyone's spine. The boys all froze.
"W-what was that?!" Yoongi flinched.
"I think it was the... MIDNIGHT MAN!" Taehyung jumped out and scared the boys. "You guys are all so paranoid! It was just me, I'm messing, calm down", Taehyung laughed out, but no one else was laughing along. "Not funny Tae, C'mon look at what you did." Jin pointed to Hoseok.
Hoseok was sitting in the corner of the room with his head down and his one hand over his head, the candle still in his other hand. He looked up after hearing Jin, eyes still wide and body shaking. "DONT DO THAT!" He hollered, making Taehyung flinch. "Sorry", he mumbled.
The boys continued to play the game, moving about the house and searching for signs of the Midnight Man.
Just then, a light gust of wind came through an open window of the house and two boys' candles blew out: Jungkook's and Namjoon's. Namjoon gasped and quickly struck a match against his box, re-lighting his candle in three seconds flat. He let out a sigh of relief but then grew tense again as he quickly looked over at Jungkook and yelled, "Jungkook what are you doing?! Quick, relight your candle now!"

"Oh, and what if I don't? Is the Midnight Man going to come and get me?" He stated sarcastically, letting out a chuckle as he tossed his match box to the floor and stared blankly at the smoke curling in the air above him.

"Jungkook!" the boys hollered. They all began to grow concerned and curious. What would happen to their maknae: would he be left unharmed and prove the game to be a hoax, or would the Midnight Man get revenge on their foolish friend?

The candle was still unlit as ten seconds passed, earning no reaction from Jungkook whatsoever.
Hoseok quickly ran to Jungkook and started sprinkling salt around him frantically, but Jungkook only walked away, dodging the circle that was being created by his feet.
"HEY MIDNIGHT MAN, COME AND GET ME!!!" Jungkook waved his hands in the air.
"What the hell are you doing you pabo?! Get in the salt circle NOW!" Namjoon ran a hand through his hair frantically. He was the leader of the six boys; would he be made responsible if something were to happen to Jungkook?
Jungkook ignored all of them and continued waving his hands in the air. "Jungkook, c'mon, just stick to the rules", Taehyung mumbled. Although he still called bull on the game as a whole, he didn't want the others to be scared and he didn't want anything bad to happen to one of his best friends. But nothing would; this is all just a silly game, right?
Suddenly, Jungkook's call for the Midnight Man to approach him seemed as if it was being answered. A cloud of black smoke formed around him and the boys all backed away, wide eyed, mouths hanging open at the sight before them. It was as if a funnel of the smog surrounded him, moving fast like a tornado. "W-what's happening?!" Jungkook screamed from inside the smoke. He suddenly began crying, begging the "Midnight Man" to stop what was going on. The boys tried to scream back to him but got no response.
*Jungkook's POV*
I felt my body freeze at the sight of the looming smoke surrounding me. It snaked through my lungs and I found it extremely difficult to breathe in the thick atmosphere. A black silhouette appeared before my eyes contrary to my belief and I screamed to my friends, begging for them to find a way to save me, or at least drive the "Midnight Man" away. My previous thoughts on this game being a hoax was proven wrong right before my eyes. I felt nothing but horror shake every single one of my bones. I was filled with regret at the choice I just made to provoke this horrifying creature.
It's long fingers reached out to me and I was now crying hysterically. If the rules stated in the box were correct, I wasn't going to be leaving this house tonight, and I would be left in pieces. All I could do was beg that my fate was not exactly that, but I was soon starting to doubt the fulfillment of my wishes as the spirit covered my eyes completely and a vision filled my sight. Not just any vision, but the exact vision that was predicted: my greatest fear.
I saw myself, shackled to a chair from my wrists and ankles. A bandana was securely tucked in my mouth and my eyes were forced open. No matter how hard I tried to close them, they would not budge. Before me were my six friends, more like my brothers, who were also tied up and a man dressed in all black from head to toe paced before them with a gun in his hand. They were begging me to help them, their pleading eyes hitting me like bullets.
I yelled out in muffled screams, attempting to beg the man to shoot me instead and spare the boys, but all he did was ignore me.
He loaded the gun and stood before Taehyung and before I could even process what was happening, the man pulled the trigger and shot him straight through the heart without hesitation. I screamed out in horror as I was forced to watch my friends lifeless body crumple to the floor and soak in a pool of its own blood. This continued with Jimin, Namjoon, Jhope, Suga, and Jin, and all I could do was watch. I was helpless and couldn't do anything to save them. I watched them in total pain and suffering and couldn't brake the bonds holding me back, no matter how hard I tried. I felt my whole being fall apart.
Just when I thought that this experience could not get any worse, the man turned to me menacingly and peeled off his ski mask slowly. The person behind the disguise was...
Myself.
"You did this to your friends. You murdered them. You made them suffer, this is all your fault."
I shook my head rapidly. No, this can't be real. Tears soaked my swollen face as the man that represented myself paced towards me and reached out for my chest.
Thats when I lost all feeling in my body and my vision became filled with blackness.
*Third person POV*
The boys all cried out to Jungkook, fear filling them instantly. Suddenly, he went completely silent and the smoke surrounding him began to slow down and fade until it finally disappeared, leaving the most horrifying sight the boys have ever seen.
Instead of seeing their energetic, talented, young little Jungkook standing there, they saw the contents of his body spilled out on the ground, his blood staining the wood.
Jungkook was dead.
Omg guys, this chapter was actually so hard to write! I almost cried writing about Jungkook's nightmare sequence! T-T
Also, in case you guys aren't aware, the beginning quote is from Jungkook's song, "Begin". I thought it matched really well for this chapter. I want to try this for every chapter, using a quote from one of the boys song, so please let me know if you like that idea!
And yes, this has escalated VERY quickly, but keep in mind this game is only three and a half hours, so things are going to be moving at this pace for the majority of the story.
Hope you enjoy reading so far !
