"Take me out of this hell, I can't free myself from this pain. Save me, who is being punished."

Six.

Six people left in the old house which was being haunted by an awful spirit. Six candles still dancing in the pale moonlight. Six prey for the midnight man to feed on.

One boy dead.

His friends circled around the remnants of Jeon Jungkook, going completely pale and speechless, but they didn't stop moving because they knew better than to follow in the footsteps of Jungkook himself.

Namjoon was the first to break the intense silence.

"O- oh my God. I can't do this", Namjoon stuttered, tears spilling from his eyes as he looked away from the horrific sight before him, still shaking in fear.

Taehyung parted his lips slowly. "We have to finish now." He hiccuped, a tear spilling from his chin and falling into the candle he was holding, causing it to go out. I don't think he ever lit a candle faster than he did in that moment.

"This is all my fault", Jin stated almost in a whisper, balling his free hand into a tight fist causing his knuckles to turn pure white.

"Don't say that, Jin. We all agreed to play the game", Suga panted as he stared at the mess on the ground, feeling utterly heartbroken.

"But I-I should have thrown it out. I shouldn't have k-kept it", Jin sobbed. (a/n : you know your in deep when "k-kept" auto corrects to K-pop. Anyways sorry, carry on with the emotional scene)

"No, it's okay Jin. Let's just learn from this awful accident and finish the game", Jimin finally stated, mustering up the courage to speak. Jhope was still speechless until he heard what Jimin said, angrily turning to face him.

"Game? More like death wish", Jhope retorted, clearly very emotional towards the events that just occurred. But the boys kept walking around the house. What else were they to do? They had to be strong if they wanted to make it out of that house alive.

They were still drunk; perhaps that's why they were so emotional, but yet again one of their closest friends was just murdered before their eyes, so they were handling it well under the circumstances. The only thing keeping them somewhat mentally stable and awake was their fear of the Midnight Man. Surely they would have all been passed out at this point if it weren't for that fear taking over their very being.

They decided to stick together, making sure everyone was staying awake and alert. Suddenly, three candles went out and they were ignited almost as fast as they burned out. The boys migrated from that area, assuming the Midnight Man was near.

The atmosphere seemed to be growing thicker around them. They felt trapped. The time was 12:30. They have only been playing for half an hour, but it felt as if years passed by to the paranoid teens. Jhope bumped into Suga who was walking in front of him and they both let out a squeal, but quickly continued to go on alert.

Everything seemed to be going too perfectly. There weren't any clear signs of the Midnight Man. But in the Midnight Game, there is an unwritten rule:

Never get too comfortable.

The silent atmosphere was suddenly invaded by a low, spine chilling whisper that cooed, "Get outtt". There was no way any of the boys would start joking around and trying to fool the other members. Not after Jungkook.

Jhope responded immediately, shrieking and running from the sound, the fast speed blowing out his candle.

The boys ran after him. "Jhope, your candle!", Namjoon shouted.

Well, not all of the boys.

Jhope looked down quickly as his eyes went wide and he aggressively struck a match against the box, meeting the dancing flame to the candle wick.

"Shit, that was close", Suga panted. They all looked at each other in relief but quickly froze at the lack of a boy and the sound of light sobs from the distance.

There was Jimin, sitting on the floor crying hysterically in the spot where they heard the whispers. "J-Jimin c'mon, we have to keep moving or else he'll c-catch us", Taehyung reached his hand out to Jimin, begging him to get up.

"I c-can't do th-" Jimin was cut off by a familiar cloud of smoke that began to engulf him.

"NO! STOP!!!"they screamed, but Jimin couldn't hear the shouts anymore. He was surrounded by the Midnight Man.

*Jimins POV*

I was still shaking, eyes bloodshot as the Midnight Man circled me. I knew my awful fate after seeing what happened to Jungkook, but I was almost too weak to care. The death of Jungkook was taking over me and I couldn't handle the constant pain of seeing him being murdered over and over in my head.

I wanted to die.

What I didn't want was to see my greatest fear, but that was inevitable, and I would have to endure it. Besides, what could be worse than seeing one of your best friends murdered before your eyes?

I was locked in a glass box with nowhere to escape. I stood there like a lost puppy and the room was completely vacant and silent.

Suddenly water began to pool at my feet rapidly and my eyes widened at the sight of it already at my ankles. I desperately attempted to escape. I slammed my shoulder into the glass repeatedly, but it wasn't going to budge. The icy water was now drifting up my calves.

Then I heard a voice. A voice I recognised as none other than the Midnight Man himself. "The water represents your lies. They build up until you cannot escape them anymore, Jimin. Until they consume you. And then you'll be dead, just like Jungkook", his voice echoed in the empty room.

I suddenly realized what was happening in this awful nightmare.

I was being caught in a lie.

The water was completely soaking my jeans now, comfortably flowing at my waist. I tried in every way possible to escape the water, every lie I have ever told, making me fall into more and more sin. I felt claustrophobic now as my body was bobbing up and down like a buoy in the water that grazed my hips. I was freezing cold, my shirt sticking to my body as the flow continued to move rapidly.

"Your nothing but a liar, Jimin! A filthy liar!" The voice continued to haunt me as I attempted to cover my ears, begging for the words to stop piercing me like knives, but I was paralyzed. I didn't even realize that the water reached my chin. I flapped aggressively as I was beginning to struggle holding my head above water. I did this to myself. Quickly the water got above my nose and I could no longer breathe. In this nightmare, I was watching myself die.

The noise of the rushing water stopped suddenly as the glass box was now filled with water and I was fully submerged. I was fighting madly to get out, begging for air, attempting to scream but only managing to let out silence.

My body floated lifelessly. The fight was over, my lies took over.

I was dead in the nightmare and soon realized that I was wrong before and truly didn't want to die. But there was nothing I could do now. I felt his hand reach into the depths of my being and pull out my heart.

Guys these are so hard to write ugh, poor chim chim😭

But please let me know if you want me to remove the picture in the beginnings of the future chapters because I realize it kind of gives away who dies but I think the more interesting part is how they die and what their fear is. But if you don't like it I will gladly remove them for more suspense!
