Can You Feel It?

Prompt: Write about the texture of hope

Soft and plush are the words to describe it best. Soft as the fur on a chinchilla as you pet it and as plush as that chair in the corner of the living room that is "dad's" chair. When you sit on it, you sink into it but it only lasts for so long before you scramble out of the chair because your father came home.

It is warm and inviting, the kind of warmth that you can only know on the morning of a Canadian winter when you have to get out of bed. The cold air is all around you but you bring the warm inviting blankets over your head as you hit the snooze button as you roll over and snuggle closer to the blankets.

Hope is calming and secretive. Almost like the type of calm you get when you take your first hit, you come more to appreciate all the things that hope does and makes you feel. Hope is secretive you don't know you are hoping or even feeling hope until it's either gone or almost gone.
