I opened my eyes to the bright light that streamed through the windows , nothing could compare to the first rays of sunshine in the morning and nothing did. I had to appreciate the little things in my life that's what i was told by my father, thinking about him brought back all the painful memories but i pushed them back i had to be strong for the mother. After all i was all that she had left.
Slowly o pushed the covers off myself and stood up, my body was stiff and it yearned to stretch itself. Following my bodies instincts i quickly changed into my sweatpants and a loose blue coloured tee and put my hair in a ponytail. i smile reached my face as i descended the stairs , the house was quite and surely mom was still asleep. Making my way towards the living room i grabbed my i pod with my earphones, slipping on my joggers I looked the front door pocketing the key in the pocket in my sweats and went of running.
I loved the sweet scent of morning air it’s just so refreshing. Slowly my house was nothing but a speck left in the middle of the trees. My mother and me were the only ones that lives in the house it wasn't' huge just a small cottage for the both of us. Our town was surrounded by a forest and that's where we lived. As i was gaining speed the wind blew against my face. i sighed i loved the way the wind blew my hair, just as i turned the corner another body joined me and i smiled.
This was Casey my best friend since junior high; she had bight blue eyes that would be full of mischief but would be an epitome of innocent when she wanted and that was quite handy at times trust me. Her hair shone in the spring morning, it was a magnificent shade of gold that was cut to her shoulders while she was tall her body slim. To put it simply she was beautiful. I still didn't know why a person like her was friends with me but then i think how it began.
Back in junior high she was bullied constantly because what the class deemed her well she was a nerd back then. With her braces and huge glasses that would constantly slide off her nose. No one wanted to know her all because of what? Social Hierarchy, well i was never one to follow the crowd so i saw her for what she really was a person that gave me her book because i didn't have one and instantly after that i wanted to become her friend ignoring everyone i did. So after all those years our friendship only grew.
A pinch on my arm brought me back from my thoughts
"Rose stop daydreaming! " she laughed,
“Alright but you didn’t have to pinch me you know” I pouted
“How else would I get your attention, you practically live in your head”
“True” I laughed and sprinted forward leaving her complaining behind me, after reaching the park I slowed down a bit. After a minute or two Casey caught up with me panting she dropped on the ground
“Don-t y-ou ev-er do t-ha-t to m-e a-gain” she breathed
“Why not, its fun to watch you get all flustered up for a change” I smirked and it was true, her face was as red as tomato even the tip of her ears were crimson
“Oh ha ha” she said, rubbing her face with the palms of her hands. I couldn’t stop laughing at her face
“Rose stop or I’m going to get mad at you” but I couldn’t stop myself , seeing that she was going nowhere with me she got off the ground and began walking toward the swing set. Oh no I really did it this time
“hey Casey stop! You know I didn’t mean it ” I pleaded, but she didn’t look back so I ran after her
“Casey stop, please forgive me” at that she slowly turned around, her face held a mischievous smile
“I knew you didn’t mean it I was just messing with you, you should have seen your face! It was so funny , Casey oh Casey please stop” she began a really bad imitation of me
