When I reached the biology class, the students till seemed to be piling in and Casey was sitting in our side of the room. Upon spotting her I walked towards her

“Hey Rose”, she greeted me

“Hey” I replied,

“So how was homeroom?” she asked

“Urgh don’t remind me I have it Mr. Athol and he gave me a detention during lunch” I groaned

“You have homeroom with that asshole sucks” she said making a face “but on the bright side your turning a bit rebellious getting detention on the first day” she grinned cheekily

“Oh ha ha, anyway who do you have for homeroom?”

“Well his name is Nathanial Hughes but he told us we can call him Mr. H; he’s new and totally hot! All the girls were all over him, especially Tatiana and her posy, those sluts. Anyway he’s also new in the pack and he’ll be our P.E instructor. Isn’t that great!” she gushed,

“Great, P.E with winey and hormonal werewolves. And a hot teacher, for them to drool over. Fun times” I said sarcastically

“Rose don’t be a sour puss” she said hitting me “and besides did you hear the new pack gossip, why am I asking of course you haven’t”, I made a face at that

“Casey in case you haven’t noticed I’m not the considered the person pack members usually talk to” I reminded her, at that she hit me again

“Don’t you dare say that to me” she told me

“Why not its true right”

“Just cause” she added “so do you want to hear the gossip or not” she questioned

“Alright alright no need to be pushy about it” I mumbled

“Okay you remember the next alpha in line, wellhescomingback ” she said quickly, although she tried to say it quickly so I wouldn’t understand her but my heightened hearing picked it up and my body froze. No he couldn’t be back, he just couldn’t be I thought. My mood immediately dampened and Casey sensing its change stayed silent, soon afterwards the teacher came in and the lesson began but my mind was too baffled to concentrate on what the teacher was saying.

The thing was when Mom and I came to St. Peters, the Alpha and his family being our neighbour would come over all the time to get us settled. Mom and Mrs. Anderson became really good friends and so did their son, Jared and me. At the age of ten we were inseparable but that friendship was confided to just our home at school he would ignore me and treat me like the rest of the pack did. But I still valued our friendship after all Casey was the only one I had but I wanted more to make me feel happy.

And Jared did just that he would be a sweetheart at home but a complete jerk at school. As time went on, we grew more and more apart; I could feel my friendship deteriorating but I ignored it and oh what a fool I was. He insults became more and more harsh and his friends and him would try to bully my young self.

Casey was the one who convinced me to see the truth so I owe her in more than form. I finally saw all the changes that he had undergone and if there was a part of him that used to be like him, well that part was buried deep somewhere. I gave up on us being the same again and tried to fight back. Once the best of friends, were turned to bitter enemies. We could no longer stand the sight of each other and would constantly fight but one day he took it too far.

I held trust very highly and that day my trust and the last remaining pieces of my friendship were brutally shattered and left me with a wounded heart. Slowly as the years progressed the wounds healed but they were again opened today.
