I wake up on the cold floor the next morning to the door slamming open, looking up to Janice's red face. "I'm going out till the weekend, you have a concert tonight. I'll have someone in the crowds, every mess up equals one hour."
Janice likes to keep me in a chest in her walk in closet, locked and cold. She says that I'll appreciate what she does for me more, and every mess up equals one hour in the chest. It doesn't help that I developed such a deep fear of tight spaces over the years because of it.
I breathe out a breath and look at the single window in the room, finding that the sun hasn't risen yet. What time is it?
I push myself up, wincing at the pain I felt through my back. I needed a shower, and then I could properly bandage myself; well, as proper as I could. I push my legs up, swaying as I stood and leaned against the wall. I could do this, I was a strong badass female that didn't take shit from anyone.
Everyone except your mother.
I ignore that annoying little voice every one has and slowly make my way into my room, taking my phone out of my backpack as I pass it. I clutch it as I stare at the staircase, clenching my jaw and forcing my legs up it. The pain hurts, but all I can think about is the high dosage pain pills I have stashed away for when Janice gets a bit too much.
I practically collapse in the bathroom, pulling off my clothes as gently and quickly as possible. I finally look at my phone and note the time, 4:26, and find five text messages. I smile as I read them, feeling my heart practically flutter and fly right out of my chest right then and there.
Finch; Hey its Finch, I hope you don't mind me giving Theo and Ronan your numbers as well.
Finch; You should come over for dinner sometime, you can help me cook and kick the other twos butt at monopoly!
Finch; What's your favorite game?
Theo; I hope Finch isn't too much, as well as hoping it's okay he gave us your number. You should come over sometime, we have game nights all the time.
Ronan; Goodnight Willow.
I smile and reply back to all of them, telling Theo that Finch was fine and telling Finch I would love to come over and cook dinner. Maybe kick some ass at monopoly. Then I tell Ronan both goodnight and good morning, since I'm up so early.
I set my phone away and step into the shower, letting out a short scream as the hot water hits my raw and cut skin. I needed to make sure I didn't get any infection, and to just be on the safe side I was using insanely hot water against my back. I wash it as gently as I could before moving on and washing everything else, including my hair, before stepping out to gingerly wrap a dark colored towel against it.
I pulled on a dark green sweater with some loose boyfriend jeans, running my hands through my damp hair. I didn't bother with makeup, instead making my way back down the stairs. It was close to six thirty by the time I had my coffee made, and stood by the back window watching the sun begin to rise.
