The doorbell rings, and I go to answer it.
"Hello, how you doin'?" greets Anthony, smiling widely.
He has got to be kidding. I must say he does look cute today though. His hair is in a low half up do.
"Anthony, what are you doing here?"
"I told you, I'm here to work on your parents."
I sigh. "They're not here right now lucky for you, and even if they were, you wouldn't stand a chance. I can't even argue my way past their bias."
"Come on girl, let me try."
He invites himself in, plopping himself down on my couch, picking up a car magazine.
"So uh, your dad's into this sort of stuff?" he asks without looking up, flicking through the pages.
"Yes," I said, shutting the door.
I go into the kitchen to pour myself a glass of water.
"Would you like anything?" I offer.
"No thanks, you're all I need at the moment. So where are the infamous controlling parents anyway?"
"Church."
"How come you're not with them?"
"They work there," I said, taking a swig of my water.
Just as I'm about to tell him that he has to leave because my parents will be here soon any minute, he throws his white shirt over his head, collapsing back down on the couch; I almost choke. I think I need to refill my glass.
"Oh cool, just invite yourself in and do whatever you please. Gosh if my parents saw this they'd flip....at me."
"What did your parents say about the invite?" he asked, changing the subject.
"It's a no."
"Bummer, I really wanted you to be there."
I hear the front door's lock picking open, meaning my parents are back. I flip out and throw Anthony his shirt, pushing him towards the back door.
"Um, you should go," I said frantically, moving Anthony away.
"But-"
"We're home," Mom says.
Mom and Dad stop in their tracks when their eyes land on a shirtless Anthony, grinning and smirking at them.
"Hello Mr and Mrs Sanchez," he said.
