The next morning Lucy was down on the training floor with Bruce before the sun even had the chance to peak over the gloomy clouds that covered the New York sky. Lucy stared out the window at the storm-gathering clouds as Bruce moves around behind her, setting things up for whatever he had planned for the day.
"Bruce," Lucy calls after a few seconds.
"What's the problem?" Bruce questions while walking up to stand next to her, his eyes watching the sky just as she had been.
"It's going to storm." Lucy comments.
"Are you alright?" Bruce raises his eyebrows, Lucy quickly shakes her head and blinks a few times.
"Yes, I'm fine. Sorry." She whispers while forcing herself away from the window. Bruce watches her as Lucy walks over to the benches and awkwardly shuffles through her bag, pushing things back and forth
"Lucy, we are trying to help." Bruce finally states after a few seconds of silence, his eyes finally tearing away from her to look out the window. "You just have to trust us."
"I do." Lucy swallows the lump in her throat while nodding. "I swear...I'm just tired."
"Do you want to try another day? I am completely-"
"No, I'm fine." Lucy interrupts, causing them both to wince at the volume of her voice. "I'm sorry, I really am fine. I'd rather just get this going."
"Understandable," Bruce mumbles and walks over to the middle of the room. "Are you ready to begin?"
"I guess." Lucy shrugs while walking to stand a few feet across from him.
"Alright. You have to promise me that you will do whatever I ask, no matter how it makes you feel. Understood?" Bruce demands, his voice changing to something that would be used in the military.
"Y-yeah," Lucy whispers.
"I want you to insult me." Bruce states. "Best thing you have."
"Um, why?" Lucy questions.
"Try to make me angry." Bruce orders while ignoring her.
"Your shorts look stupid when you turn into the big green rage monster," Lucy mumbles. "Purple and green look like something you'd find at a fashion show that was trying too hard...or something."
"You'll have to do better than that." Bruce sighs. "I've lived with Tony for years."
"Well, I'm sorry if I don't insult people out of the blue, especially people who have done nothing wrong!" Lucy rolls her eyes.
"Would you rather have me insult you?" Bruce raises his eyebrows. "Because I thought we could start with the easier step."
"Your scientific discoveries were copied. They were stupid and I bet Tony fucking Stark discovered them all." Lucy interrupts him from going further with his statements. The room is silent as they stare at each other, Lucy bites her lips while taking a deep breath as she watched a vein twitch. "I-I-"
"Don't." Bruce sighs while holding up his hand, his eyes closed as he continued to breathe in and out. "Watch how I'm not-"
"You're turning green," Lucy mutters while taking a step back. "Doctor Ban...I mean Bruce, please. You asked me-"
"Go and get Tony." Bruce orders, his voice getting lower and lower as the green spread across his skin. "Now!"
Lucy's eyes widen as she takes off and rushes out of the training room, jumping into the elevator within seconds. The doors close as she hits the button for the lab a few times. After a few more anxiety filled seconds, the doors finally open to reveal Tony at his station.
