(What I imagine Griffin looks like)
Yuki's Pov
When we got back down to the living room. Raven and Cyborg were fixing the wall and the window, with Beast Boy acting as Cyborg's tool boy.
A cute little green ferret running around and fetching tools.
"Allow me to help." I snap my fingers and the shattered glass disappears and the broken window looked like it was never broken. The wall rubble also disappeared and the wall like it was never smashed through.
Robin was poking and prodding at Dustin, checking to make sure he was still alive and trying to wake him up. By that
"He's alive, if you're wondering. I merely put him to sleep." I snapped my fingers and the spell I placed upon Dustin was gone.
He shot up, whipping his head around to try and find Griffin.
"She's gone, Dustin. She left you here to 'protect' me." I say sitting on the couch.
"What?! She left with Barin and not me?!" He sulked in one of corners of the living room.
Meanwhile with Griffin and Barin...
With their wings helping them fly like jets, they made it to the Island of Nuada.
It was hidden from the human eye, but anyone from the Island itself could see it. It was an invisible disguise, to protect the ancient elders and it's forgotten legacy.
Here, it was medieval, but the medicine was advanced, more than modern days.
Anyways, Griffin and Barin softly landed on a cliff near the sea.
Barin looked at Griffin and saw that she was looking away from the Isle.
"Tell me Barin, what is Nuada the god of?" She said not looking at him.
"Wind, Sky and...." He went silent.
"War, we are beings of war and yet." She turned to face him. "We sit here blinded by our new peace." She spat. "My people, our people are content to watch the world burn from the safety behind our walls, and I will not."
Griffin walked toward the edge of the cliff, near the waterfall and jumped. She flew slightly away from the island and flew into and through the water, landing lightly in a cave.
Barin followed her curiously. Was this where she ran off to everyday?
Barin's Pov
There at the back of the cave was a statue. Unlit candles were placed at it's feet.
"Grandmother showed me this when I was little. There was a lot of wisdom in her words. It is sad my father didn't listen." Griffin lamented before approaching the statue.
She bowed gracefully to the statue and chanted a prayer. "Father Nuada, of Sky, Wind, and War, let me be your sword, that I may do my duty as your daughter to keep peace as I fly through the Sky with your Wind supporting me that I may prevent War."
The candles lit and the smoke that rose off them swirled and twisted and sunk into the eyes of the statue, which lit up with a bright golden light. "My child..." whispered the Wind in mine and Griffin's ears. I jumped back with a start but Griffin seemed completely at peace. "you have returned and while this pleases me, I yet sense that you do not come here to pray."
"No, Father. I wish to ask..." The rest of her sentence I did not hear. "Very well, my daughter." "What did you ask." I questioned "Another time Barin Eagle-Claw." Responded Griffin. Before we left the cave Griffin looked back towards the statue. She turned away and flew through the waterfall and up into the city. I followed close behind.
"The princess has come home!" Was the cheer that followed us as we flew through the streets and between the houses. Griffin and I landed on the platform where her father and our king, Falcon Hawk-Wing, stood.
"My daughter. I have decided to forgive you for running off, but nonetheless you must chose a husband if you are to be Queen, I have picked three able suitors for you, Barin Eagle-Claw, Dustin Owl-Talon, and Aren Ravens-Eye. Dustin I see is not here. So that leaves two."
In that moment I saw the love for her father disappear from her eyes, saw the love for this Isle, the safe-haven in which she was raised be snuffed out, like a candle at night. She straightened her shoulders and told her father "No."
"What?" "I will not marry. I will not be Queen. I forsake my crown! I forsake my wings!" As she spoke this the same golden light which had glowed in the statues eyes engulfed her, in a bright golden circle. It hovered for a minute, swirling like a tornado, and exploded outwards with the sound like a clap of thunder, the golden light spread in all directions. We were all blown back.
Griffin knelt on hands and knees where she had once stood. Her long hair now short and choppy, her beautiful wings, now just feathers floating in the air. Her armor was gone, replaced by civilian clothes.
Dustin's Pov
"Somethings wrong." I stood up quickly only to be blasted back with a wave of golden light. I crashed into the wall and all went black.
Slowly I came to at the sound of a voice standing over me. "Dustin, are you alright." The one called Robin helped me up. "That was no ordinary light." Spoke the woman called Raven slowly. "Please, why were you the only one affected?" asked the one called Starfire. "I know not."
"Whatever it was. I got a lock on the source." Spoke the one called Cyborg. "Strange I don't remember there being an island their before." "That's because their wasn't." "Didn't Griffin say she was from an island?" Spoke Yuki. "The Isle of Nuada, It's supposed to be invisible to all that have never been there. What ever happened must have happened there. I will lead you."
"Sweet to the T-Ship!" shouted the one called Beast Boy. "We'll meet you outside." said Cyborg and they all went running after Beast Boy.
