It was Saturday, the day of the Masquerade party.
Everyone had to wear a mask, along with either a suit or an olden style dress. I already knew what I was wearing. It was a rich, emerald green dress with black, flowery lace. My mask was going to be green with black feathers. I had bought it for a play I was staring in, in high school. When Harry had given me the idea of a masquerade themed party, I immediately begged my dad to send it over and it had arrived just last night.
The whole house was decorated in an elegant style, thanks to Chrissy (our resident interior designer). The music was to be classical yet fun and the food was elegant. We were all going to have an amazing night.
I was cleaning my room, when Chrissy came in.
I had four best friends, but out of all of them, I was closest to Chrissy. It wasn’t because I liked her more than the others, it was just because our mothers were best friends and we lived close to each other.
I could tell Chrissy anything and we were basically sisters.
“Hey beautiful, what’s up?” I asked as she entered my room.
“Not much, just texting Niall. I swear, he is so cuteeee!!!” She gushed.
“You and him are adorable. I can not believe you two hooked up yesterday!” I exclaimed.
“We did not hook up! We just started dating!” Chrissy protested.
“Whatever you say babe.”
“Uhuh. By the way, Lyss, I still have no idea how you can stay away from Harry. I mean do you not see the hotness? And I thought you loved him!” Chrissy asked.
“Yeah I know, he’s sooo hot. And an amazing person too, but he just thinks of me as a friend and nothing more.” I told her.
“Please, any person can tell his face lights up when he sees you.”
“Because were friends.” I emphasized. “And he likes to talk to me.”
“Yeah, he likes to talk to you.” Chrissy said and I nodded. Finally, she understood, “And while he’s talking to you, he thinks of all the dirty things he’s gonna do to you.”
I sighed and threw a stuffed penguin on her.
“You are ridiculous” I stated.
“It’s me who’s ridiculous? Puh-lease! You are the one who is oblivious to the fact that one of the hottest guys in the world is madly falling for you. I mean I am so disappointed! I would’ve expected Lizzie to be this oblivious but not you. What? Are you not interested in him anymore?”
“It’s not that, trust me, I am very interested. I just find it insane. Harry doesn’t like me. That’s it. I’m not going to act like some pathetic loser and act like a hopeless fan and creep him out. I rather keep our friendship.” I told her.
“You are crazy.” Chrissy said.
I rolled my eyes.
“Get out of my room! You are distracting me from cleaning my room!” I fake-yelled.
“Oh my god.” Chrissy huffed, getting up, “The one day you clean your room, and it’s the day I want to talk to you about your lack of knowledge on the fact that the amazing Harry Styles likes you.”
Before I could respond, Chrissy left.
I swear, she was delusional. There was no way Harry Styles loved me.

It was seven pm when the guest started to arrive. Annabelle asked her friend Chloe to welcome people in and get them set. Us girls wanted a big entrance once everyone was here.
