Maximus P.O.V
Malik woke me and I was half up when I got dressed. I couldn't sleep last night because I only had her on my mind. I kept thinking about her face, skin, and hair. She was perfect. The thought of her sent tingles through my body.
I came out of my room and all the guys were lounging in the hall. "It's about time you got ready little prince," Phoenix says and walks up to me while putting his arm around my neck for a choke hold. "I slept late last night," I say while pulling Phoenix's arm off me. "Were you thinking about her pretty boy?" Julian questions and stands up. "Oh shut up Julian, you were probably thinking about her too!" Xavier says and laughs. "Fuck you!" Julian retorts and picks up a pillow from the couch. He throws it into Xavier's face. Xavier looked at Julian like he was about to kill him, but Rowan stopped both of them.
"Knock it off you guys!" Rowan says sternly. They both stop and it gets quiet. "Your such a dick Rowan," Julian says. Xavier adds, "You need to chill sometimes." Rowan just shakes his head. "We have to go to my father's study," I exclaim and I start walking. They all get up to follow me and I hear one of them sigh.
As we walk into my father's study I see him and the alphas discussing something. "There is one legend that no one knows about, but us. We can't let it actually happen," Alpha Ryan says. Alpha Marcus points out, "She can be a key to a new generation." "But look at the hard work that we had to put in to keep our world together! We don't need someone like her to destroy it Marcus!" Alpha Julius yells. "She is truly remarkable, with someone like her she could possibly strengthen our kingdom though," Alpha Cyrus claims. "She is something that we all feared that would appear before us someday," Alpha Caesar says.
"Why would you fear her?" Samuel chimes in. We all look at him. "She wouldn't hurt anyone would she?" He asks and looks at my father. "Well we may never know until we see it for ourselves." My father sighs.
We all talk about the training that me, Rowan, Phoenix, Julius, Xavier, and Samuel must go through before we can take our positions. I have take a harder test because I am the next king. The rest of the guys have a tough training in order to become an alpha, but it doesn't compare to mine.
Time goes by and it is finally dinner. I was waiting for this the entire day because I really wanted to see her.
Maids helped me change into a black suit and I then walked to the dining hall. Everyone was there. I sat next to my father and the alphas sat on the sides of the table. Malik excused himself to go get her.
"Boys let me and your fathers' only question her. We want to see if we can get something out of this dinner," my father states.
What would he want to know?
We wait a few minutes and finally the doors open. She walks in and she is gorgeous from her head to her toes. She is wearing a baby blue dress and her platinum blonde hair is in a bun.
Malik announces, "Here is Ms. Ophelia Thompson." He motions for her to sit and she sits at the other end of the table.
I wish she was closer.
As Malik leaves to check on the dinner it is kind of quiet. I couldn't keep my eyes off of her. I wanted to talk to her.
My father began to speak, "Welcome and congratulations on making it through the selection." She looks around and we all wait for her response. She starts to talk, "It is an honor to have your hospitality towards me." Her voice rings in my ears like a melody. "My you have my greatest acknowledgement," my father raises his hand in gratitude.
Alpha Caesar starts to speak with a stern tone, "So you are from my pack the Lycan pack?" "Yes I am," she says confidently. "So tell me what it's like, are you happy there?" He asks.
I wonder why he would ask that?
"Your pack is primarily made up of hard working souls. Everyone must do what they need to do in order to survive. It is a matter of following the rules of life. I find myself half heartedly there," she explains.
She is pretty smart like she was raised in a high class family.
Alpha Caesar nods and grins. "You are quite intelligent, did you go to school?" Alpha Ryan asks. "I did not go to school, but my mother taught me the rights of the werewolf kingdom and the council so that I will know what is to be followed by," she replies. Alpha Ryan smirked after her response.
Soon Malik and some maids entered with the dinner. As we ate it was silent, it felt weird. When we all finished father began to talk again, "Please Ophelia let us go to the aster." We all got up to walk there.
The aster was a place that my father admired a lot. He told me that someday he will be there and that I would too.
As we went to the aster I walked behind Ophelia. I kept my eyes on her the entire time. Everyone walked close together.
When we arrived at the aster, father clapped his hands. It got dark and the constellations and stars started to appear.
It is breath taking, but nothing more that takes my breath away is Ophelia.
Father spoke, "Here lies the stories of many that reigned upon the werewolf kingdom. It is said that if you were chosen by the moon goddess you would also be apart of them." We all look up at the stars.
But I had my eyes set on her. She turned around to look at me and turned back around to look at the ground.
Was I intimidating?
Father clapped his hands so the lights could come back on.
Ophelia said, "King Aspen?" My father replied, "Yes?" "Where are all the other girls that won in the selection battle?" She asks curiously.
Father became stiff and I wondered the same thing.
