The Coronation

Chapter 13

I could not imagine ever being part vampire. Being a werewolf was a prosperous thing, but a vampire? It is gonna take me some time to get used to the whole "fangs and stuff."

Valerien and I were outside in the back of the castle where there was open space of green grass.

I was wearing a black tank top and knee length tights. He wore a dark blue v neck shirt and black joggers.

"So how do these vampire abilities exactly work?" I cross my arms. "Well first it all depends on what type of ability you have." "What is your ability?" I say awaiting his mystical skills.

He grabs my hand and grips it firmly, "Do you trust me?" "Wait! What are you gonna do?"

"Jump!"

"What!" I scream as a black hole appears beneath our feet.

Our bodies are falling in mid air and I feel my stomach do summersaults. I think I'm gonna be sick after this.

I squeeze Valerien's hand and shut my eyes tight not wanting to scare myself any further. It takes about a couple of seconds before Valerien tells me to open my eyes and as I do I am floating towards the ground.

He lands first, but the force that allowed me to float wore off and I was about to fall straight into the ground until Valerien caught me in his arms.

"Nice catch," I tell him while my cheeks heat up. He grins and places me down.

As I straighten myself out, my attention is caught by the beautiful scenery in front of me. Birds chirping and flying from tree to tree, wild flowers and grass sway left to right, and the warm sun shining on me.

"My ability is to jump from different dimensions and places," Valerien explains while looking at the view.

We don't say anything to each other for a while. I had this weird feeling in my chest that felt almost like having heart burn, the pain was similar to someone hitting me with a hammer.

I grabbed my chest and started breathing heavily. "Are you alright?" Valerien turns and puts a hand on my shoulder. "Yeah, I just have this chest pain." "Do you want to go back?" "No wait, how would I know what my ability is?"

The pain in my chest lifted like it never was there, that was strange.

"Was there a time that something unusual happened like a power that you used?" I thought back, there was nothing unusual except my speed and strength.

"I don't recall anything uncommon except the regular vampire stuff." I cross my arms getting frustrated at the fact that I am a hybrid, but don't even know my own vampire ability.

"Well that sucks," he laughs. "This is a waste of time, lets go back." "I thought you wanted to know your ability?" "I do, but I can't know if I never experienced it before."

"Suit yourself."

Everything was beginning to turn black.

"Valerien? Valerien!" I yelled. He disappeared, where the hell did he go? I was in complete darkness and wherever I ran, I felt like I was back in the same place. I wasn't gonna panic, I needed to get out of here.

I sat down and thought about what to do, but nothing came to mind since I had no idea what I "can do" to get out.

A loud creaking sound was made and I quickly got up to see what the noise was. Walls were moving inward, I could feel that the space was getting smaller and it was going to crush me.

I had to think of something fast.

Shit.

What would Valerien do? Get out of this dimension of course, Thea says. "Oh, now you only talk to me when I am in desperate need of help?" I say to her angrily. I could tell she got irritated and closed the mind link.

The walls were moving in closer and I could feel that they were a foot away. The sound of the walls intensified as it inched its way to me.

I closed my eyes hoping something would happen. I thought of how Valerien made that black hole. I kept thinking of that black hole wishing that it would bring me back to the castle.

My eyes were still closed and I couldn't hear the walls anymore. Was I dead?

"Hey Ophelia!"

That voice, Valerien?

I opened my eyes and I was back at the castle where we started our training. Did he bring me back?

"You did it." "Did what?" "You came back on your own."

I was shocked, I didn't even feel anything happen.

"So what exactly is my power or ability, is it the same as yours?" I question. He looked at me solemnly, "I don't think your ability is necessarily like mine, I think you copied my ability."

I was so confused, copied his ability? How can I copy an ability?

"Val I don't understand what you are trying to tell me," I sigh. "Your ability allows you to copy the skills of other vampires, this is incredible we have to tell my father!" He grabs my hand and we run back into the castle to tell King Morrow. Maybe he can explain it better to me, Valerien doesn't answer my questions completely.

We enter King Morrow's study to find him sitting at his desk with some paper work. "Why hello dear, what brings you here?" He looks up at me and is wearing reading glasses.

"Father, I believe Ophelia may hold the rare ability that you told me about." "Is that so?" King Morrow takes off his glasses.

I still didn't understand Valerien.

"She displayed it while we were trying to figure out her ability," Valerien says. "Well I'd like to see for myself first before we actually confirm this ability of hers." The King walks down in front of me.

I found myself staring straight into the king's eyes. "Ophelia." "Yes?" "Look around you," he tells.

There were books, papers, and furniture floating in the air. Woah.

"Time and space is a very important attribute to the world." He raises his right hand and I suddenly start to float. A book comes flying by me and I duck so it doesn't hit my head.

"Valerien." The king calls. Val nods.

We are suddenly outside somewhere with rocky cliffs falling and I see that we are going to fall straight into a pile of sharp rocks.

What the hell! Why am I always falling in places, these vampires want me to die!

"King Morrow!" I yell. He is relaxed while falling in mid air and so is Valerien. "Ophelia you have to copy my ability!" The King shouts. "How?" I shout back. "Do what you did when you escaped the dimension I put you in!" Val shouts.

My heart was beating extremely fast. I thought about what I did when Valerien placed me in the dark dimension. All I recall is closing my eyes and hoping that I would get out alive.

"Ophelia you better do something quick or we might have have rocks pierced through us!" Val yells with a panic tone in his voice.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, I had to think of what to do quick. I remembered what King Morrow told me, "Time and space is a very important attribute to the world."

Could I possibly stop time?

I am going to make the King and Val pay for what they are putting me through once we get out of here.

When I opened my eyes we were mere inches away from falling into the pit of sharp rocks and I stuck my hands out from fear. Everything was frozen, we were standing in mid air.

"You did it!" The king laughs joyfully. "Incredible," Val murmurs.

I was in total disbelief, it was unbelievable.
