As i walk up to the prison cell, am stopped by Nico but as soon as I explain to him that she might know something about my parents he stepped aside and gave us some privacy. "Who are you? And how did you know my name?" That was a good start... right? Or maybe i should've cut to the chase.
"Am Brooklyn Birdwind. I was Jason Birdwind's sister. From your looks, you look just like your mother. Now, answer my question... Are you Blossom Birdwind?" She could be my aunt but am not believing her until someone runs a blood test. "Yes ma'am. Tell me what you Know about my parents. You obviously seem to have known them in the past." She hesitated before responding. "Your parents had to fake a death. They couldn't risk the chance of you dying. Long story short... Your parents are dead now. Am sorry for my people attacking you. When you set me free, if you set me free I will leave you alone. We can be allies... after all I've overheard the young man you call Nico claiming your queen of the Next Generation. The more people you have, the more your empire will start to grow. We humans that still have humanity need to stick together." The things she said seemed to numb me. Everything seemed to lose its color. Dead parents. No one loves you. All the terrible words I've been told were coming back to haunt me. I couldn't respond to Brooklyn and I couldn't answer anyone. Tears started running down my face. Pouring even. I wish I could climb into a hole and die then again am already in a hole just one with people in it. As i walk down the street I see Amber and the others watching me cautiously as if wondering if they should come near me and ask me what's wrong. Suddenly my legs grow weak as i fall to the ground. All I could do was sob. How pathetic you are. Why can't a blue headed freak just die already? No. Stop thinking this. I try to stand up but I fail again. Through my hair, all I can see is feet. Everything looks black and white. Like an old movie. I can't hear anything but footsteps. I see a hand reached out in front of me. I take it and was able to stand. I look at the one who gave me his hand. It was Blake. He's speaking but I can't make out anything he's saying. All I can do is sob. He seems to understand me and sweeps me off my feet. He takes me home. My house felt cold like ice. My tears burn my face from the cold room. I start to shiver and Blake wraps me up in his warm jacket.
"Blossom... Can you hear me?" I open my mouth but no words come out. He nods and pulls me onto his chest to stop me from trying to speak. The lump in my throat hurts so bad I can't help but cry. As I sob into his chest, our hearts race as if trying to see who's faster. After hours and hours of crying, he finally gets up.
"Don't leave Blake! Please... watch me sleep one last time..." He walks over and stares at me sadly.
"Only if you tell me why you were crying." Tears start running down my face again.
"Blake, my parents are dead..." He stays silent for a moment and i can see his eyes starting to water.
"Mine are too..."  What he said shocked me but at the same time... I wasn't surprised.
"Was it the bombing...?"  A tear ran down his face.
"No... an accident... car accident... it happened last year... it took my entire family away..." I couldn't help but hug him and wipe the tear from his face. I was so Lucky to be friends with him and Amber. I sit down on my bed then he gets on my bed and lays his head on my lap. I flinch a little but then I relax. "Let me lay here for a few hours" I play with his hair and watch him rest his eyes. His hair slips gracefully out of my hands. Slowly I feel my eyes close but I can't fight hard enough to keep them open. All i can do is fall in a deep sleep... deep enough to dream.
