I quickly stood up from the bed leaving Harry behind. Matt was there in front of me. I am not sure what I expected to see, his time in therapy had been so short I didn't expect big changes, but seeing him right now like this was not what I expected. His eyes were big, his expression showing anger, his hands were balled up into fists, and the veins in his arms were popping out so much due to the force he held in his fists. He was breathing in and out like a bull, this was all his anger from the past weeks combined. He made his way towards me with long strides and in no less than three steps he was in front of me.
I myself was now prepared for the hits; it was obvious that, that is what he wanted to do. I closed my eyes expecting his fist colliding with me. Time seemed to have slowed down.
"Hello Matt, I'm Harry."
I didn't look behind me, in fact I never opened my eyes, but I could still feel Matt's presence in front of me. His hands wrapped around me, like one would give a hug. Tears rolled down my face and onto Matt's shirt, fear is what I felt. I knew that anytime I found myself alone with Matt I would get what I deserved.
Matt finally let go and when I opened my eyes I saw Harry turn to me, an expression of puzzlement on his face.
I was shaking and tear stains were on my cheeks, my eyes were probably red, making Harry look at me with disorientation.
"Are you fine?" He asked me.
"She's fine." Matt answered for me, but that wasn't enough for Harry. He stepped his way towards me and with a hand on my cheek asked me again.
"I said she is fucking okay!" Matt answered again grabbing Harry's hand from my face and letting it go with such a harsh movement.
"But I'm not asking you!" Harry flared up, but never did he once leave eye contact from me. I looked down at my hands, "I'm fine, I'm just happy to see him." Harry looked at me, his eyebrows scrunching up like he didn't understand me.
The door to my room was opened again, Niall making himself noticed to us. "Guys breakfast is ready down at the lobby, we leave after that." He grew quiet once he saw and felt how tense the whole room was. Matt grabbed my arm in his and walked me out the door and to the lobby for breakfast.
Everyone was at the table already and following behind Matt and I was Harry and Niall. We took a seat, Matt next to me and Harry on the other side. In front of me was Lou.
We each had a plate of pancakes and eggs. I started on my pancakes adding maple syrup to them. Conversations as always were going on.
"So Olivia, I leave today and I hope that you've learned how to care for these boys, I'll be back in about two weeks, three the most." I just nodded at her and looked back down on my plate.
When I finished with my pancakes I dropped my fork on the plate and just kept my eyes trained forward with my hands on my lap.
"How long are you here for, Matt?" Liam asked him clearly wanting to have a conversation.
"Just today." Small answer, but made me feel big with hope. If he was here for one day and I would be leaving in a while it could mean that for once I would escape him and his threats.
"Oh okay, thought you'd want to see more of Olivia."
Oh Liam please don't say anything like that.
"I plan on having a day just us two one of these days, I want to let her know how much I miss her." His hand took ahold of my wrist. I knew what he meant and he was clearly showing it right now. His hand closed tightly on my wrist. I tried moving it out from his grasp but came to no avail. The pain was becoming unbearable making me tune out Matt and Liam. I focused so hard on masking the pain when I felt another hand on me. But this hand was Harry's and instead of holding me like Matt his was intertwined with my left hand, his thumb drawing small circles. I looked at our hands and then looked at Matt's.
"Why are you crying Olivia?" Lou asked gaining me attention.
"I just-" my voice sounded strained. I looked at Matt, his hold getting tighter signifying for me to lie. "I just missed him so much and I'm happy to see him even for just a little while."
"Young love," sighed Lou with such admiration. Matt finally let go making me yell out a small yelp. He put his arm around me and brought me towards him, making Harry's and I's interaction disconnect. Matt brought his lips towards mine, strong and with such a fast pace he kissed me. His kiss was nothing like the boy's next to me.
"Time to leave."
Matt let go of me and I finally looked up to see one of the security guards. Everyone stood up and followed him.
"I need the money."
"Hey Matt, man come over here." Liam called for him and with a grunt followed him. I quickly went to my room and got my purse which I had forgotten up there thanks to Matt dragging me out. Back with the boys I handed Matt the money, and with one harsh last look he took the money and got in the cab.
I made my way to the bus and before entering Harry stopped me, "that, what happened in there was no way of showing how happy you were to see him." With one last look he got on the bus leaving me dumbfounded.
