Amber Dixon:

-Dream-

I walked through the woods that looked familiar to the woods from where we grew up. I continued to walk through the woods gazing at everything in awe.

"Amber!" That was Cayla!

"Amber! Where are you?" Cayla yelled and I started running toward the voice.

"I'm here! I'm here! Cayla!" I was close when a blood curdling scream pierced through the woods. That was Cayla's scream.

"Cayla!" I said running faster and when I got to the edge of the woods only to see a walker bitting into my other half's neck.

"Cayla!" I darted up to her and stabbed the walker in its head making it fall limp. Cayla fell against me not moving but I could feel her breathing. I laid her on the ground with her head resting on my lap. She looked up at me with her sparkling and bright blue eyes that where identical to my own. She grabbed my hand weakly giving it a squeeze.

"Sisters forever, never apart.." she started.

"maybe by distance, but never by heart." I finished and I squeezed her hand back.

"I'm sorry." I started but she cut me off.

"Don't be it's over now. I love you sis." She started coughing up blood and I started to panic. I placed my hand against her neck to stop the bleeding but it kept coming.

"Cayla! Don't die I just found you! Please! It's you and me, not just me and not just you." I said to her and she snorted.

"Grow up Amber. You said it yourself, you can defend yourself. You don't need me, you never really did." She said smirking before coughing again.

"But..." I started but she cut me off again.

"You can fend for yourself, Amber! Your not only a Dixon but your my twin sister, my other half. If I can protect myself so can you. Now wake up and come find me. If I'm dead or alive you keep going no matter what. Remember, what we say. Never give up, there's no such thing as an ending, only a new beginning." Cayla said smirking at me.

"You sound like a sap now. This is just a dream. Right? You are still alive? Who am I kidding you are alive or I wouldn't be."I asked looking at her.

"Fuck.... you! Yes it's.. a dream..... but you have... to find.....out.....yourself......sis." Cayla said as she closed her eyes and her breathing ceased.

-End of Dream-

"Cayla!" I said sitting up in bed looking around. I was in the bedroom of the abandoned house that I took shelter in last night. When I looked down at my hands for blood there was nothing but dirt and walker blood.

"Stupid! It really was a fuckn' dream." I laid back down turning to look at the curtains, some light was showing through meaning it was the start of another day of running, looking for Cayla, find shelter, and maybe find safety.

Sighing I knew I had to move but images of the dream kept replaying in my head over and over. My body felt numb so I decided to stay here one more day even if it wasn't the best choice. So I laid there on the bed of the abandoned house staring at nothing. As I started to wake up more I felt the sore muscles in my body from me pushing it to hard yesterday.

-Time skip an hour-

Finally deciding to get up and look at my surroundings, rose from the bed. The bed creaked a little while the floorboards moaned when my boots hit them. Carefully and quietly I walked over to the window to peer outside. There weren't many walkers around so I relaxed a little before putting the curtain back in place. It must be around one or so and I opened my bag to see what to eat. I settled with another peanut butter granola bar and a couple sips of water. I'm saving the canned beans and other food for when I decide to go hunting. When I finished I grabbed my stuff walking downstairs to check the doors and windows. All the windows were covered with curtains and the front door was barricaded with a cabinet I put there last night. The back door was the problem, it was in the kitchen so I just set a chair under the knob to maybe hold for a little. Settling with it being semi safe I started going through the cabinets and drawers of the house. In the end I took a few sharp knives, fruit bars, more granola bars, a few soda bottles, bottle of whiskey, and some more canned food.

'I'm set for a little while but maybe they had medicine and bandages.' I thought as I walked towards the bathroom. Inside the bathroom there was a few band aids, triple antibiotic, pain medicine, and some gaze patches.

'Better than nothing I guess.' I thought to myself throwing everything in my bag. I walked into some of the other rooms to see if there was anything useful. As I expected there wasn't really anything but I did take a jacket for when it's chilly. Although that's the opposite of the weather now, it's hot and I'm sweating. Not that I'm not use to this kind of weather but I laid down in the bedroom for a minute. Maybe I could take nap for just a little. And with that my eyes fluttered closed and I was consumed by sleep.
