We both ran out of the shed the moment we heard the explosions. I looked up in the sky and saw it was streaked with sparks, dust and debris.

I followed the streaks and my eyes settled at the front of the camp. A cyclopes, ten feet tall, stood right below Half-Blood Hill, using a tree as a weapon against all the demigods who happened to have their weapons on hand and near the cyclopes.

The cyclopes also had a bag full of small explosives, which he threw whenever someone wasn't stabbing his legs.

I drew my sword, but a scream from camp made me turn around.

Before I knew it, I was running towards the Big House. I don't even know why. I just was.

And everything went black.

I woke up in the back of a taxicab.
