Last Night

Chapter 9

"Hey Kara it's me again, I know you're probably busy saving the world... just call me back okay? I need to make sure you're okay." Lena hung up the phone, she had been calling Kara all day, but to no avail. It was getting late and Lena was getting worried. She had checked and rechecked the news all day, but nothing serious was ever reported. And if the news wasn't reporting it, it must be a major, world-threatening, alien issue.

Kara's day started out like any other, flying to Lena's, taking Krypto for a walk, helping anyone in need. Then she got a call from Alex. Apparently she was needed at the D.E.O immediately. About nine-hundred-and-twelve forms later she was almost finished.
"Alex! Can I please have my phone back now?" Kara whined. "I'm nearly done, and I still have to call Lena so she can do all of hers." She said with a pout.
"Fine," Alex gave in, "I only took your phone because i knew Lena would do all your paperwork for you, and that's kind of illegal." She explained.
"I would n-" Kara started to protest, but Alex interrupted.
"Yes, you would. Now call Lena." Alex left the room and Kara pulled out her phone. Lena answered on the first ring.
"Lena!" Kara exclaimed, startled by the immediate response.
"Kara? Oh my god are you all right? Are you hurt?!" Lena asked, frantically.
"Whoa slow down, I'm fine. Nothing happened." She reassured.
"Then where the hell have you been?! I've been calling you all day, I was worried sick."
"I'm sorry, Alex pulled me into the D.E.O and took my phone. I've been doing paperwork alll day, that's actually why I called... you have to come in and do some too."
"Paperwork? That's all? Kara I thought you were dead." Lena said, still processing.
"I promise I'm fine, and next time I'll let you know what's going on."
"I'll be there in twenty minutes." Lena sighed.
"Ahh the life of dating a super," Kara began, "it just never ends..." Kara said in faux awe.
"You're a dork." Lena laughed.
"A cute dork," Kara interjected.
"My dork." Lena declared.
