Kara wakes up alone, and very confused, on the couch.
"Lena?" The apartment is still bearing the remnants of game night, which would be normal if it weren't for the late hour. Kara gets up, wondering why she's all alone. 'Where's Lena?' She's beginning to think it's all just some hyper realistic dream until she realizes that the dog is gone too, and that they must be on a walk. But it's pretty late, Lena should be back by now. Kara starts to get worried, so she decides to go out after them.
She knows the usual route, Lena wouldn't stray from it this late at night. There's no sign of them anywhere. After searching in every possible direction Kara's about to turn around and head home. Then she notices Krypto tied to the steps of a building.
"Krypto! Hey buddy, where's Lena?" She rubs his ears and unties his leash. He whines, and strains against the leash, tugging in the opposite direction as home. Kara gives him more leash and he takes off running. Kara follows, somehow knowing that he'll lead her to Lena. A few blocks latter Krypto stops outside of an old warehouse. "No, no this isn't good." Kara mutters to herself as she ties up Krypto again and pulls out her phone. "I'm gonna need some backup."
———
Kara creeps into the warehouse as quietly as she can. As expected, she finds Lex and Lilian inside. Her heart breaks at the sight of Lena. It looks like she put up a fight, but now she's been restrained and looks to be unconscious. Kara hears her backup arriving, so she steps out of the shadows.

Lena's still unconscious after lex and Lilian have been detained, Kara immediately rushes her to the hospital.
———-
Kara's been pacing the waiting room for what feels like hours, hoping that Lena's okay. Finally a nurse comes out and updates her, she says that Lena's stable, but in a coma.
"Can I see her?"
"I'm sorry but we can only allow immediate family in the room right now." The thought of Lena being all alone in her cold hospital room nearly sends Kara over the edge.
"I'm her girlfriend, I'm the closest thing to family she's got! Her family did this to her!"
"Sorry honey but girlfriend isn't family." The nurse says gently but firmly. A small smile breaks through the mixture of fear and anger on Kara's face.
"Did I say girlfriend?" She says, running one hand through her hair as the other slips into her pocket. "God I still can't believe it's real..." she says, her smile growing more watery by the second. She wipes a trail of tears away with her right hand. "I meant fiancée," she says pulling out a shaking hand to reveal an engagement ring on her finger. She lets more tears fall, and can see the nurse's resolve beginning to crack.
"Oh alright," the nurse says, before letting her in the room.
When the nurse leaves and Kara's finally alone with Lena the first thing she says is, "I just lied to a nurse! Well I'm kinda hoping it won't be a lie for much longer, but I can't tell you about this right now. God Lena," She says taking her hand, "you're gonna be okay. You have to be." The tears come back in full force, Lena looks so pale and fragile with her eyes closed and too many tubes and wires spread in every direction.
The nurse comes back in, too soon for Kara's liking. "I'm sorry sweetie you're gonna have to go for now, turns out she does have some other family after all."
