I didn't really know what to call this one because there's not really words you can say to describe this without being excessive.
Basically, cut down, when an author is too lazy to write a description after dialogue they put a dash and then the name of whoever was speaking.
Like this:
Insert name here received a call from one of her friends, Friends name here. They picked up the call.
"Hey, Friends name here!" -Insert name here
"Wassuuuuup!!" -Friends name here
"I dunno, you're the one that called me!" -Insert name here
...And so on.
It just gets really annoying to me, I don't really know why. It's like the author was too lazy to try. And I feel like you shouldn't do that, that you should always give your 100%.
(SHUT IT I ALWAYS GIVE MY HUNDRED PERCENT. IT JUST FEELS LIKE 10% TO YOU CAUSE I HAVEN'T BEEN FEELING IT LATELY.)
