It was a chilly Friday night.

Barry decided to walk Felicity home after their date.

Yes, she decided to just go out with him. She couldn't just put off dating forever, already being senior in high school.

"Thanks for this."

"Anytime."

Felicity looked down at the ground, not knowing what was going to happen.

She didn't want him to kiss her, yet  for some reason she stood around for a couple seconds waiting for him to do so.

It got really awkward, so she ended up being the one to make the move.

They kissed, but it didn't feel right.

Clearly, Barry didn't think so either because they both gave each other the same look.

Well how nice. Felicity's first kiss was a forced one with a guy she barely felt comfortable around.

Barry held her hand.

"Felicity, I'm sorry."

"I'm sorry too."

He let go of her and turned around, starting to go back towards his car.

"I guess I'll see you around."

After quickly saying hi to her mom, Felicity immediately went up to her room to FaceTime Sara.

She rarely used FaceTime because she had always felt awkward, but in this situation she just needed her best friend.

Not just her words on a message but her. Sara Lance. The person who meant more to her than any guy.

The phone kept ringing but Sara wouldn't pick up, and as far as Felicity knew, she was no where but her room, and she always kept her phone close by.

Since it was already 10:30pm she decided just to give Sara as much time as she needed to call her back.

Anything could be going on in her house that's way more important than Felicity's boy rants.

But then Monday came.

Felicity walked into Ms. Blanchard's English class once again, noticing that Sara's seat was empty. She hadn't heard from her all weekend.

"Okay class I'll be right back. I have to go to a quick 5 minute meeting. You have free time."

Ms. Blanchard left the classroom with Mr. Nolan who was already at the door waiting for her.

There was actually a rumor going around school that the two of them were dating, but none of the students had any proof.

Not that Felicity cared, they were teachers and she was all about minding her own business.

Oliver, in the row of desks above Felicity, turned his chair around towards her, which she did not expect.

"Have you heard from Sara in the past couple of days?"

Thank goodness. She wasn't being ignored. Sara hadn't talked to anyone.

"No, I FaceTimed her on Friday night after my date with Barry...you know, just to tell her how it went..."

Oliver stopped her. "How did it go?"

"Oh, um...It didn't really work out. It felt too forced. It was almost like I felt like I had to date him just because we're interested in the same things. Or because we were meant to be because nerds fall in love with nerds...I'm bad at describing things."

Oliver laughed. "I totally get it. You'll find someone don't worry, I'm confident in you."

There was a moment of silence before Felicity spoke again.

"Anyway she obviously didn't answer my call. Or any of my texts throughout the whole weekend."

"That is pretty strange. Maybe when you get home you can go to her house and check on her? I'm not saying you have to, but you're her best friend. Her and I have been through a lot. It's better you try to see her than me."

Felicity agreed with Oliver and decided to drive right over to Sara's after school.

She put her wrist up to the door and knocked, slightly afraid of who might answer and what might happen.

The large brown door opened and there was Sara.

She was in her pajamas, and her hair was in two braids, one on each of her shoulders.

Felicity could tell she was about to cry, so she stepped closer and hugged her.

"Sara what's going on? I want to hear everything because obviously you're not okay."

She pulled away before hearing Sara's answer.

"Laurel, my sister, she's dead. There's no other way to say it."

Felicity never really got the chance to know Laurel, because most of her and Sara's friendship she was living on her own. Sara is almost 18, Laurel was 25. They were years apart.

When Laurel came home to visit, it was always family time and Felicity was never invited over.

"I'm so sorry Sara."

Just then, one small tear came down from Sara's face.

"Everyone wants to talk about how she died too. But all I care about is how she lived. They need to remember that she was my sister."

As much as Felicity wanted to ask, she didn't. She couldn't.
