Sara Lance finally came back to school today.
The cheerleaders and everyone else seemed glad to have her back, but they knew she wouldnt act exactly the same as before everything happened.
She didn't. There would be some moments where she'd be laughing with her friends, and the next just staring out into space.
Felicity hadn't told her about the whole Oliver thing yet. She just hasn't had the chance to.
Hypothetically dating someone your best friend previously dated will always be hard to talk about, and that was something she had to deal with if she wanted to be with him.
Does she want to be with him?
Of course before class, Oliver had to take his sweet time and go to her locker.
"Hey Felicity, do you have a minute?" Oliver asked, very quickly.
"Um, yeah"
Oliver grabbed Felicity's arm and suddenly they were in a corner where a minimum amount of students walking past could see them.
"Felicity will you go out with me?"
"As in a date? Like a date date? Like an actual date?"
Oliver laughed. "Yes Felicity, an actual date."
He looked back at her after a couple seconds, noticing she never actually answered his question.
"What's wrong?"
"Oliver why did you feel the need to drag me all the way to this corner?" Felicity asked, sounding mad.
Oliver sighed, rolling his eyes at the same time. He had an answer to this question but he couldn't say it.
And it was back to Felicity. "I think I know. You're too embarrassed to ask me out when people might be watching because of your reputation right?"
Oliver took a step backwards.
"I knew it."
Felicity walked away, going back to her locker to get her books for class.
How could she be so stupid? Of course this happened. Her and a guy liked each other and then things went terribly.
That's what happened with her and Barry.
And that's probably how her and Oliver were going to end up.
When Felicity got home that afternoon, she only had a few minutes to rest because before she knew it, there was another knock on her door.
She hoped it wasn't Oliver trying to talk to her, because she didn't want to see him.
But luckily it wasn't Oliver. It was Sara.
Sara, her best friend, who was probably going to ask about Oliver.
Maybe this was just as bad.
Felicity's mom was sitting on the living room couch when Sara walked in.
"Hi Ms. Smoak I'm home!"
"Hi Sara. Welcome back."
Felicity and Sara went up to Felicity's room as always, because who wants their mom getting in on their conversations?
Sara lifted herself off the ground, and then landed right on Felicity's bed, staying there.
"So the real reason I came over here was...I saw you and Oliver having what seemed like a very private conversation in that corner by your locker. What was that all about? I mean the fact that you guys acted all secret about it makes me want to know even more."
Felicity came right out with it, felling like she had no choice.
"He asked me out, and I said no."
Sara's mouth flew open.
"You said no?! What...Felicity how is this even possible?"
"You saw us in a corner right?"
"Yeah..."
"Want to know why we were in that corner? Because he was scared to ask a girl like me on a date in front of people."
Sara was going to talk right about then, but as usual Felicity wasn't finished ranting.
"I know he still likes me and probably will for a very long time, but he can't expect to be with me when he's afraid to be seen with me if that makes sense."
Sara stopped her.
"Felicity Felicity Felicity... calm yourself. If you want me to be completely honest, I think you should go out with Oliver. It's not like he did anything to hurt you. He just has a little teenage boy fear that he'll get over very soon."
"I'm sorry Sara but I can't do it. I can't date someone knowing they think of me as a looser."
Sara couldn't handle this anymore.
"Felicity you're not a loser. Stop calling yourself a loser. You are good enough. If you call yourself a loser one more time I will bang my head on a wall, because I'm just tired of it. You may not be a cheerleader or basketball player or someone who's had 32 boyfriends, but NONE OF THAT MAKES YOU A LOSER."
And then there Felicity was, looking down at the floor.
