Being up in space wasn't much of a trouble, well if you where alpha or a beta. Here let me explain!
Your an alpha, there rare, they are dominant in the relationship, also highly respected and upper class. They don't have a heat cycle that makes them needy for physical touch, only omegas have that. They are the only ones who can Impregnate an omega.

Your a beta, betas are normal people really. They can't be effected by the heat, and they CANNOT impregnate omegas.

Your an omega, omegas can get pregnant male or female, they have a heat cycle (heat cycle is an urge to have sex) and release pheromones that can effect only alphas, causing an alpha to attack them. But they use pills to suppress it. The heat cycle only lasts about one week depending on the omegas feeling, Omegas are also rare and they are....Lower class. Only expected to give birth, and comfort people. You can claim an omega easily. Just bite the nape of their neck, if it stays they accept you, if it fades away they don't want you.

Lance's P.O.V
Meanwhile with the earth being like this. It didn't change the paladins of voltron. Shiro, Keith, and Allura being alphas, everyone expected that. Shiro being the leader, Keith being that one hot tempered male, and Allura being that girl ruler. Yeah totally expected. Pidge, hunk, and coran are betas. Yeah that was also expected kinda. Pidge being normal girl and a genius, hunk being mistaken as an alpha and also good at mechanic, then Coran being a great guide and help to the princess. Meanwhile I'm an..omega. Yeah you guessed it. But everyone looks up to me as an alpha. It's only like that because I take my suppressants every time my heat comes that's all. I'm tall, brown skin, blue eyes, brown hair, Cuban. Yup I'm totally an alpha. No one here has time for an omega. So might as well keep it to myself since no-one has time for my 'idiocity' like they say. Every time my heat comes or when it's the first strange I groan and they find it annoying thinking that I didn't eat or I 'farted' like what. So that's enough proof. But I'm still an important part of voltron. That is! To keep everyone calm, and at ease with my pheromones. I have two types, the pheromones to calm everyone, and the powerful pheromones that comes from my heat.

3rd P.O.V

When it was a completely normal day at space, no fighting, no 'paladins get to your lions!, type of stuff. Princess Allura went to the dining area where everyone was seated. And spoke with ease, "Paladins! I have an announcement!" She said smiling. "What is it princess?" Pidge spoke out looking up from her computer. "I must run a blood test to see your kind, α/β/Ω!" She said smiling. "I doubt there's any omegas here princess" Keith said yawning and leaning back. "You don't know what" Coran said cheerfully. Lance swallowed a big gulp and looked away. "Shiro your first!~" she said.

Later on after this...

When they finished with lance Allura looked at lance. So did Coran. "Just as I thought, do you have suppressants?" She said. Lance rose his hand and tilted it. "I'm running out..." he admitted. Allura face palmed and left the room not wanting to attack lance since she was alpha and she didn't want to be effected by the heat. So he was left with Coran the beta. "It's okay lance we just need...to find a way to restrain that cycle of yours" he said smiling. Lance sighed "I didn't want you guys to find out.." he said quietly. Coran smiling and lifted his boys chin up, "lance, everything will be okay." He said.
As Allura broke the news down to everyone hunk smiled "I knew that already" he said. "I'm not his best friend for nothing guys jeez" he said chuckling, Pidge didn't take it to heart as it was kinda obvious since the way he acted not by his looks. But shiro and Keith where shocked.
'Omega..on the ship' 'lance, omega' they couldn't stop thinking about that. "So what should we do?" Spoke up Shiro. "Unfortunately..lance is running out of his suppressants...and we need to find a way to calm him down for good.." she said quietly. Pidge rose her glasses. It was her time to shine. Her inner fan girl was sprouting out.
"I think I know princess."
She said pushing her glasses up.
