Clarke's POV
*************

I'm already up and dressed, with difficulty. I decided to wear a dress so I wouldn't have to touch the wound.

Lexa texted me that she would come by my house at ten - making sure it wasn't to early.

I brush my hair, then make sure to grab my phone and keys and walk downstairs. A sharp pain shoots through my leg and I have to hold onto the rail to stop myself from falling.

Thankfully my mum is gone to work, I had told I would be going out with a friend. She did ask which friend and all I told her was someone I had met in the park. She left it that much to my relief.

Managing to walk downstairs I remeber that Lexa didn't have much to eat, or wear for that matter. Let alone a proper place to sleep - my heart sank at that.

She was still only a stranger and I still had questions to ask.

I walk over to the kitchen taking my backpack and grab a few crisp packets, juice bottles a chcolate bar and some fruit. I would make a sandwhich but the doorbell just rings and a smile spreads across my face.

I quickly zip it up putting it on my back. I grab some money and open the door to a nervous but beautiful Lexa standing there.

I swear I'm so gay. But only three people know that, Raven, Octavia and my mum.

Shaking my head I smile at Lexa who returns the gesture.

"Hey Clarke."

"Hey Lexa."

"So where do you want to go Lexa?"

"Umm...I don't mind a walk in the park, my house, or walk in the mall..."

I realise everything she says are places where money will not have to be spent.

"Lets go for a walk first then," I smile up at her.

We walk in silence - side by side, me occasionally stealing a few glances at her.

"One minute," I state my leg hurting me.

"Damn it your leg! I forgot to ask!"

"It's fine."

"No it isn't."

We spend a few minutes jokingly arguing back and forth.

Before we even realise we reach the park and I see it's empty. Me and Lexa both walk over to the swings taking a seat.

"So about yesterday Lexa. Thank you."

She smiles at me.

"But can I please ask you something."

She looks at me, her green eyes like a forest full of mystery.

"The scream...on the first day I was walking - what was that about."

She hesitates.

"Ok I'll be honest." She pauses for a brief moment.

"One of the assignments was to capture this lady. I only got told she took a picture of one of our group members stealing."

"Did you...hurt her..."

"No. Never. We try our best to make sure no one gets injured unless they completely deserve it."

"So you let her go."

"Yes. We just made sure the picture was deleted."

"Why don't you just leave..."

"I can't. Not when that's pretty much the only way I've been managing all my life."

"But...I...you..," I don't know what to say.

"Hey listen. Let's forget about that now ok. Tell me soemthing about you.."

So I do. We sit there talking about small things like favourite colours and cars and seasons. Then I confront Lexa about her living status. I tell her straight that I'm paying and if she still wants us to be friends she has to listen. She disagrees but I tell her that I got more than enough and what's the point of it all of I can't even help anyway. It takes some time, but she agrees about the food.

I also find out she lives with another girl, a few years older who is like a mother figure in Lexa's life.

After a while we're standing outside Lexa's house with a pizza. We both decided to get a pizza and go to Lexa's.

She opens the door and I'm met with a stranger.

She looks to me and then to Lexa a stone gaze.

"Anya, this is Clarke. Clarke, Anya."

"Hey Clarke," her face softens and she smiles at me.

"Hey..."

I pull out the chair putting the pizza box on it.

"There's pizza. If you want it."

"Don't mind if I do."

I realise they both must have the same living condition.

I watch as they both eat like they haven't eaten in days.

"Thank you so much Clarke!," Anya states.

"No problem."

After we finish eating I throw the empty, eight peice box in the bin outside.

"So Clarke. You're ok with what we do."

"Well not exactly. Like I get why you do it so that's fine but I really wish you didn't have to."

"Not gonna tell the police or anything."

"No. I'm not like that. Plus you both seem really nice."

She smiles at me. After asking a few more questions she seems satisfied. She also finds out I went for a walk in the middle of the night and tells me to not do that again.

"Oh I almost forgot."

I take the backpack off my back and walk over to the small area they keep food. There's a crisp packet and one glass.

I pull out the juice, crisp and chocolate and fruit and put it down.

"Tell me if you need more."

"But Clarke. We have nothing to give you," Lexa states.

"Of course you do. Your friendship."

I see Anya smile at me from the corner of my eye.

We talk for a bit and then Anya has to go as she's meeting a friend.

"Well I have to go. Nice meeting you Clarke. Thank you for everything. Stay safe - both of you."

I watch as she leaves.

My phone beeps and I see the screen, a message from my Raven aksing us to come over for a movie.

"Lexa do you want to come over for a movie at a friends house?"

"Ummm..."

"Please."

She nods and I can't help but grin.
