~~~CHAPTER TWO: BRIGHT LIGHTS ACROSS THE SKIES~~~
???? POV:
It's been couple months since I had last saw anyone. Not JUST anyone though. One of my KIND. It's still far too early for me to come out of hiding, but I can tell that the time is near. Crouching against the dirty wall, I can feel my teeth itching-aching to bite through flesh. Placing my hand onto the cold cement floor of the alley way, I waited for something, ANYTHING to come into my eye's sight. Seeing a small movement at the opening of the alley with my sharpened eyesight, I slightly smiled to myself. Flashing in front of a drunk woman, I covered her mouth with my hands. After dragging her quickly back into the alley way so no one could see what happened, I looked into the woman's watery eyes, seeing her alarmed expression.
The strong smell of perfume and alcohol had left me holding my breath as I tightened my grip on her mouth and shoulder, pinning her onto the brick wall that was covered with graffiti.
"Don't you dare move," I spat out, letting go of her mouth. "Or I wil-"
"So you wanna play roughhhhh..???? Okaaaaaay~~~ " the woman replied drunkily. "Let's-"
I then placed my hands onto her again: one on the neck, the other on the mouth. I felt my anger rise up from her vulgar language, and had the need to...get rid of her faster. Hearing her muffled scream brought me out of my thoughts as I stared into her eyes, seeing the once playfulness attitude replaced by fear. At the same time, I saw the reflection of my red eyes. She then brought her hands onto mine, and pushed her manicured nails into my exposed arms, causing blood to seep out. But after a couple seconds, the wound closed itself. At that moment, I thought of only one thing for the woman:
*your luck went out*
Your POV:
I closed my eyes, breathing in the midnight air at the pier looking out to the ocean. As I layed my arms onto the cold rails, I heard familiar footsteps coming closer to my direction. When I opened my eyes, I felt something drape my shoulders, protecting me from the coldness of the night. I turned around, leaning my back onto the rail and folded my arms as an attempt to warm my hands up. Looking at the person in front of me, I gave a small smile.
"Thanks for the jacket" I said.
Daehyun chuckled. "Is that all you're going to say??"
"......and thanks for coming to see us again" I said, rolling my eyes.
As always, Deahyun chuckled and ruffled my hair.
"When will you stop doing that!" I lightly exclaimed. "It's really cold....I wish you wouldn't do that"
I saw Daehyun's smiling still, but his eyes said something else. But before I can try to figure out what it was, he walked up, standing next to me. I turned to the railing and leaned onto it again, and Daehyun does the same thing.
"__________......", Daehyun started, "did you know?? Wishing for something can be very dangerous"
As Daehyun speaks, I can see that he was lost in his own thoughts. But ever so slightly, his face began to grow darker, as if remembering something painful. Because of this behavior that I had never encountered with him before, I soflty called out his name, as if calling his name out normally might break him-like glass.
"Oppa.....gwaenchanayo(are you okay)?" I asked, worried.
Brought out of a trance, Daehyun smiled at his younger sister.
"Neh....gwaenchanhayo....(yes....I am fine)", Daehyun replied softly.
Taking your eyes off your brother, you looked back to the ocean, its rippling waves captivating. You saw Daehyun looking up at the sky from the corner of your eyes, pointing at something.
"__________-ah, look up" he said calmly.
When I looked up, I saw a shooting star pass by the sky, and I gasped.
"A shooting star!" I exclaimed. Closing my eyes, I made a wish:
*Let my family and I have a good time here in Hong Kong*
When I opened my eyes, I saw Daehyun closing his eyes, looking like he was asleep. When he opened his eyes, Daehyun smiled. I thought I saw tears in his eyes, so I opened my mouth to say something.
"Oppa, are you sure you're okay? You look lik-" you started.
" KIDS!!!" I heard someone familiar call out. I turned to see both my parents walking towards us from a distance, holding cups of coffee.
"HERE MOM!!" I cried out, leaving Daehyun behind me.
As I got closer and closer to my parents, I could see them smiling warmly. I grabbed my coffee from my parents, smiling from ear to ear as I held the cup. Not noticing I left Daehyun without finishing my question, I sipped my warm coffee. I felt the familiar taste of biterness and the warmth enveloped my body seconds later.
"OPPA!!", I yelled," come get your coffee!" I sipped the warm treat more eagerly, enjoying the taste in my mouth. I then saw Daehyun shake his head from the distance, chucking again as he made his way towards us.
