A head splitting pain wakes me from a deep sleep. I squeeze my eyes shut and reach towards my bedside table to grab a bottle of aspirin that I keep there for mornings such as these. My hand searches the entire area, but comes back empty. I slightly open one eye to find what my hand missed, but my heart stops at the sight.
This isn't my nightstand.
I look down at the grey sheets covering my body, and realize that they aren't mine either.
And that I'm completely naked.
I shoot out of the bed at a lightening speed, and make my way to pile of discarded clothing littering the floor.
Shakily, I pull the dress that I must have been wearing last night over my head, and run to the door with my heels in my hands. Quietly peeking out of the bedroom, I make sure the coast is clear before making a beeline for the front door.
Sweat beads down my neck as I pad through the silent house that had clearly hosted a party the night before. Empty beer cans and red solo cups cover the floors, stains of only God knows what take the place of art on the walls, and whole the place reeks of vomit.
My stomach churns.
I don't remember coming to a party, and I don't remember going to bed with anyone.
I don't remember anything.
When I finally reach the door to make my escape, I gently turn the knob, and close it quickly behind me.
I run as fast as humanly possible to my apartment and bunker down in the safety of my my own bed.

Reliving the terrible morning that still shakes me after the hundredth time dreaming of it, wakes my from a deep sleep.
Suddenly a pair warm arms wrap around me. My eyes snap open, and I turn to see Theo's face only inches from mine.
That's right, Theo stayed the night after he beat the shit out of some guy that got too handsy with me at the bar! I snap back to reality.
"Sorry, I thought you were cold," he says with a hint of grogginess in his voice. I must have been shaking so badly that I woke him up.
"Just a bad dream, sorry for waking you." I glance at him through my lashes, hoping that he doesn't ask what the dream was about.
"No problem, it's already eleven so I need to get up anyways. I hate wasted days," he says looking down at the watch on his wrist, still draped over my stomach. He stretches his muscular arms up over his head, and lets out a big yawn.
"Let me make you breakfast. Go shower and I'll have it ready by the time you finish."
"Only if you promise me there will be bacon!" My eyes almost close completely, I'm smiling so big. It's so easy waking up beside Theo. It feels nothing like the morning I had just dreamt about.
"It wouldn't be breakfast without it," he states before sauntering, still shirtless, out of my bedroom.
I strip off my pajamas while I pad to the bathroom, and then hop into the steaming shower. Letting the scorching water pour over me, it washes off the gross feeling I get after reliving that nightmare.
Once I sufficiently have bright red blotches scattered over my skin, I dry off with my fluffy cotton towel, and then pull on an oversized long sleeve top and stretchy yoga pants before making my way downstairs.
Theo is just putting food on the plates for us when I take a seat at the bar in the middle of the kitchen.
"Smells delicious," I say, salivating over the aroma.
"Thanks, I hope it tastes okay. I'm definitely not a chef." He chuckles, sitting down next to me and placing the plates of eggs, toast, and bacon onto the counter in front of us.
"Want to do something fun today?" I ask, shoveling a fork-full of eggs into my mouth.
"Sure, but let's take it easy. I've got a killer hangover." He smiles gingerly over at me while massaging his temples.
"Okay, how about a movie? I've been dying to see the new Jennifer Lawrence one!"
"Gag!"
He laughs at my sullen expression.
"Just kidding, we can see anything you'd like. Anything at all." Heat floods my cheeks as he looks at me longingly.
"Perfect! We can stop by your place if you want to change out of those clothes," I suggest, noting the random drops of blood dried up on the shirt he had apparently found and put back on.
"You kind of stink." It comes out all nasally when I pinch my nose and speak.
He grins and spits back, "That's man smell, baby. Women love it! Maybe you're just not close enough to really take it in." With arms sticking straight out, he starts moving towards me, looking a lot like Frankenstein, while I start moving backwards slowly.
"Don't get that stink all over me, I already showered once today!" I giggle as he chases me around the kitchen.
Backed into a corner with no way of escaping, his arms entrap me. I playfully try to push him away, but he just squeezes me closer to his hard body. The playful glint in his eyes slowly seeps away as he closes them, and he inches his face towards mine.
Our lips finally touch, and I swear I feel sparks. Like actual electricity coursing through my body, starting at my lips and reaching all the way to my toes, making them curl.
Reaching my arms around his neck, I pull him closer into the kiss. His hands snake down the sides of my body and rests on my hips.
After what seems like forever, he breaks away from the kiss and moves his hands to either side of my face, staring me straight in the eye and not saying a word.
"We've got a movie to see," he says at last, before planting a soft kiss on my forehead.
