|| PROLOGUE ||

PROLOGUE: "How it all started"

This was the day it all started. Your best friend invited you to come to her house. Of course you were excited and begged your mom to let you go, and luckily, she did. You were now walking with her to her house.

“Chaemi, if my brothers already home, then just ignore him, he's a butthead! He thinks he's the boss of the house, just because he's in 8th grade!” Minji said as she tugged on her backpack straps. You chuckled as you nodded in response. “Do you like popsicles? I got plenty at home!” She said over excitedly.

“I love popsicles! My favorite is blue raspberry!” You replied also getting overly excited.

“Really? Mine is Apple!” She said as she stopped in her tracks. “Looks like we're here!” She said looking over at the house next to us. You scanned it, and noticed there were 2 bikes parked there.

“Who's bikes are those?” You questioned tilting your head.

“My brother's!” She said rolling her eyes and running towards the front door. You followed quickly after. She knocked harshly on the door, you could hear laughter from the inside. “Open the door Gyu!” The door suddenly opened and a older boy stood by it with a lollipop in his mouth.

“Mingyu! Your sisters here….with her friend!” The boy yelled, and Minji’s brother showed up. Once he did, it was as if time stopped, all you could see was him, and only him. Why he looked so handsome to you, he was so perfect. You took a closer look at his features and already fell deeply in love.

“Kim Mingyu! What are you doing here? I thought you were gonna stay after school with Wonwoo?” Minji asked shoving her brother out of the way, bringing you back into reality.

“Simple! We just decided to stay at my house instead!” He replied in a teasing tone.

“Our house, you pabo!” Minji corrected walking towards the hallway. You were left there staring at the ground while nibbling your lips. You slowly walked by the beauty before you trying to catch up to your best friend. You managed to find her in a room. She threw her backpack to the side and laid on her bed, staring at the ceiling.

“Is this your room?” You asked, gently putting your backpack on the ground.

“Yup! And that was my obnoxious brother and his obnoxious friend” She said as she stood up from her bed. “You wanna get some popsicles?” She asked, and you nodded impatiently in response. She got up and walked towards her kitchen with you tagging along. She opened her freezer and took out the popsicles, she looked in it and took out a green one. “Hmm, I can't seem to find a Blue raspberry…” She said as a sigh escaped her mouth. “Mingyu! Have you seen a blue raspberry popsicle?” Mingyu came walking with a smirk plastered on his face.

“Are you talking about this blue raspberry popsicle?” He teased while  he waved the last blue raspberry popsicle around.

“Yah! That's my friends popsicle!” She yelled running up to her brother, he scoffed as he held it up high for her not to reach.

“If your friend really wants it, then I guess I'll let her take a lick!” He said, you froze for a bit before gulping. Mingyu shoved Minji out of the way and came towards you with a warming smile, making you have a loss for words. “So...do you want to lick it?” He asked innocently. You nodded your head slowly as your cheeks became warm. He put the popsicle in front of your face, you stared at it, and hesitantly licked the top. Mingyu smiled at you and continued eating the popsicle as he walked away. Minji just stood there with her jaw hanging, once he was out of sight, you came up to Minji and closed her mouth.

“What was that?!” She exclaimed, all you could do was shrug in response. She stormed off to the rest of the popsicles. “Okay, so Mingyu has the blue raspberry popsicle, now which ones your 2nd favorite?” She asked taking breathes.

“Umm, cherry?” You replied, she immediately took out a cherry popsicle and handed it to you.  

“Let's eat it outside on the porch!” She suggested pulling your arms towards the front door. On the way, you couldn't help but think of the moment that just happened. Wow, Mingyu is different from what I thought… You thought, as you started to lick your popsicle on the porch.

“Hey Chae-” She stopped when she saw your face. “Ah, your nose is bleeding!” She said as she got up immediately to get paper towels. You felt your nose and saw blood on your index finger. I don't remember hurting my nose… You thought as you tilted your head. Soon Minji was back with the paper towels. “Did you hurt yourself on accident?” She asked as she gave you the paper towels to wipe the blood. You shrugged as you stared at the blood once again. Then your mind went back to Mingyu.
