"Xander, you know better than to do this," I heard a woman's voice say. Xander's body shifted slighted behind me. I opened my eyes slowly, trying not to be blinded by the light.
"Ah, Violet. You're awake" The woman said, walking over to me and grabbing my wrist, "You're pulse is good. Looks light you might be able to get out of here today."
"Good, I'm starving," I groaned. Xander's head popped up behind me.
"You want food? I'll go grab some," Xander started to get up, "Whatever you want, I'll get it."
"No," I said, grabbing his arm and pulling it, making him fall back down on the bed. "I'm not ready for this moment to end yet."
Xander smiled, rewrapping his arms around me. I shut my eyes, laying my head on his arm. It seemed like every spot that my skin connected with his was erupting in a tingling sensation. I took in the moment before sitting up, remembering everything else.
"We have school today," I groaned, "And I don't think my dad is going to let me get away with skipping my first day here."
"The school day is already over," The doctor said as she restocked the cabinets.
"What?" I asked. I hope they didn't call home asking about me. My dad is going to be so angry at me. "I have to get going home."
I pulled out of Xander's arms and ripped the IV from my arm, running out of the room. I wasn't going to let them make me stay here another day.
And that was when I realized that I was already lost. This was an unfamiliar floor to me, and it was a lot larger than Xander's. I slowed down to a jog, looking for the elevator, or at least a door out of here.
"Violet! Stop running," Xander yelled. He was already gaining on me. God damn these werewolves.
"No, I have to get out of here," I yelled, "I shouldn't even have stayed here overnight."
Xander grabbed my arm, forcing me to stop. He turned me to face him, even though he towered at least a half foot above me. We locked eyes immediately and stood there staring at each other, panting from the spurt of running we both had done.
His emerald eyes were enough to make me forget what I was doing. I was still lost in his eyes when his hands found their way to my head, holding it still as he leaned down. His eyes never moved from mine as he connected his lips with mine. My arms moved to around his neck, pulling myself into the kiss. After a few seconds standing there with that one kiss, Xander pulled back slightly.
The break only lasted a second, when I forced my lips back onto his. Together our lips danced together in perfect harmony. Taking the invitation with open arms, Xander pushed me into the wall. The light, gentle kiss we first began with turned into a string of fiery kisses, full of lust and passion.
My hands found their way into his hair, entangling my fingers into it. Xander slowly made his way down to my thighs, picking me up and wrapping my legs around his waist. We sat there like that for what felt like forever, until Xander finally ended the session.
I looked into his eyes after he set me down, which were directed at me but weren't actually looking at me.
"What's wrong?" I asked, rubbing his arm. When he didn't respond, I started to get worried.
"Xander? Hello, are you in there?" I said, waving my hand in front of his face. He snapped out of his trance instantly and grabbed my arm, leading me down the hall.
"Your dad is looking for you. My friend just said he ran into a couple cops that were scouting town for you," Xander said, rushing me into the doctor's room again to grab some pills, "I think it's time we get you home before the entire town is looking for you."
I followed him down the hall to the elevator, which we rode up to his floor.
"I have some clothes for you to wear from Lucy, I'll let you change while I get my car," Xander instructed, leaving me in his room.
I looked around until I found the stack of clothes on his dresser, which I grabbed before rushing into the bathroom to change. I was still in his t- shirt, which was covered in blood from last night. I slipped out of it and into the clothes, that were actually my size.
Lucy had given me a pair of ripped jeans and a cut off shirt, which ended right above my belly button. I slid on my shoes that were luckily still in Xander's room. They were a bit muddy from the other day, but they would work. I ran my fingers through my hair, making it look the right amount of messy and neat.
Leaving behind all the dirty clothes, I ran down the hall to ride the elevator down to the main floor.
"Xander?" I yelled, looking around that level of the house.
"He's outside," Another one of the pack's members said from behind me, making me turn on my heel to see who it was.
I didn't know who she was, but she was obviously part of the pack, so I smiled before saying, "Thank you."
I began to walk to the door to get to Xander, but the girl who had helped me wasn't done talking yet.
"So you're the weak human that is supposed to rule with Xander?" She said, making me yet again turn back to her.
"Um, yes. From my understanding, that's what he is expecting from me," I replied, with the same tone that she had given me.
"You're not even Luna material. How is he expecting you to take the spot as the werewolf Queen?" She asked in her snarky way.
"At this point, I don't know. But I have to go before my dad completely loses his mind," I stated, trying to not pick a fight with a werewolf. I started on my way but was stopped when I was shoved into the wall, pinned by the girl.
"There is no way, that I'm going to give up the spot I was going to take to you," She threatened.
"Then take the spot back, for all I care," I shot back, spitting in her face before kneeing her gut and running out of the house.
I had just got through the door when I ran straight into Xander's broad chest, stopping me right in my tracks.
"Sorry I was so long, just some girl stopped me and we had a short lived conversation about how she was somehow giving her spot as Luna to me," I admitted, "Threats were thrown but it's over now, let's go."
I grabbed his arm pulling him away from the house, trying my best to get him to move.
"You were threatened?" He growled. His eyes were black again, and he pulled out of my grip before running back into the house. It was only seconds until his voice erupted out of the house as he yelled at the girl who had threatened me.
I stood there, shaking. Why couldn't he had just left it alone. She's never going to leave me alone now.
I tried to ignore his burst of anger and walked to the car that was pulled in front of the house, sitting in the passenger seat and waiting there with my legs folded up by my chest. I turned the key to start the car, turning on the music to try to overpower Xander's voice, which was still echoing out of the house.
I almost felt bad for the girl. Her threat wasn't even that bad, and she was getting yelled at like she had a knife to my throat.
I laid my head on my knees and waited for Xander to finally give up and drive me home. He surprising came sooner than expected. His body was stiff as he made his way over to the car. He put on his seat belt before turning the music down and starting our journey down his long driveway.
The drive was quiet, and I avoided eye contact with him the entire ride. I watched out the window as the trees passed. Xander sighed as he finally pulled into my driveway, parking the car and turning to me.
"Look, Violet, I'm sorry about that back there. That girl was the werewolf that had been picked out for me if I didn't find my mate by my birthday. Of course, that part wasn't my choice. She shouldn't have come at you like that, and I had to get it through to her that you were my first choice for my queen," He admitted, grabbing my hand.
"I have to go," I whispered, pulling out of his grip and sliding out of the car.
