3 months later...

The sun had began to wake up as she ran her last few miles. Her hair was matted down with sweat, the heat rising to her cheeks making them a light rosy pink colour. She stopped before a bench, sitting down to catch her breath. Overlooking the lake beyond she saw the ducks began to make their way out their little homes, followed in a line as they began to swim away from their safe haven and into the world. Ripples of water trailing behind each duck. And each duck it's own size and shape, one big one small, one tall one short. All in a symmetrical line. In an order. As if that was the way the world works.

Wrong.

Leaving the ducks be, she climbed up the steps of her apartment building and into her apartment. Showered, dressed and ready she made it our of the front door and downstairs where she stopped dead in her tracks.
Amongst the men carrying boxes out of the moving van. There he was. Looking as dashing as ever. Flashing his award winning smile to the last of the men walking as his gaze followed them and landed on her.

His smile faltering.

And his eyes smiling.

As the world stopped around them once again.

The girl with the invisible mask, and the boy who saw through it.
