The Player

Chapter 17

I wake up the next morning with Shawn by my side. He wakes up and pulls me close and kisses my forehead. "I live for the days I wake up next to you" he says. "Well it's my pleasure then" I say as I kiss him.

I get up and jump in the shower. As I get out and get dressed I hear a knock at the door. I hear Shawn and another guy talking and arguing about some trip or something. "What happen to two months from now?" Shawn asked "sorry kid but you're becoming big, the sooner we hit the road the fast you'll get well known. You signed for this kid. We leave in two days." And I hear the door shut. I walk out "what was that about" I say as I walk over to him.

"It's my tour manger, he says I'm starting to blow up, he's never seen and artist blow up this big and fast. He wants to start the world tour early." He says looking down. "Well how early?" I asked "I leave in two days, I have a show out in Texas, and we go from there." He says. "Well how long is the tour?" I asked "it's about three to four month maybe longer, it depends on flights and dates and tickets sales and a lot more. This is becoming more complicated then I thought it would be" he says shaking his head.

"Well lets make the most of the two days we have together" I say with a smile. "Yeah of course" he says with a big smile. He takes out his phone and takes a picture of us. "You look good fresh out the shower" he jokes, I laugh and finish getting ready.

On the way back to my house Shawn got a called saying he got offered to play on a tv show and he leaves tomorrow morning, it was about an hour argument. But he finally agreed. We decided to stop at the spot Shawn took me, the one that over looked the lake. Once we got there we found a spot on a cliff that perfectly looked over the lake. It was almost 7:30 and the sun was starting to set. "Shawn why do you have to leave." I ask him. "I don't know, but I get to perform and thats all I really want to do is sing for people and make people happy." He answers. "Hold on I'll be right back" he says as he gets up.

He comes back after about 5 minutes or so. He has his guitar with him. He sits down and starts to play. I've heard it before, he starts to hum, once he starts singing I smile. Never be alone is what he's singing. This couldn't be more perfect right now. Once the song ends "Shawn, I think you won my heart." He smiles "well good because you won mine a long time ago" he says as he kisses me.
