It came the day when the two of us returning home. Vicky talks with Alex every day, but I am not interested of news about Marc. I spent every single day with Sakis, we met very well and I am sure that we'll stay in contact. We just came back from breakfast, when Vicky decides to go to the pool. "You know what. I'm going to take advantage of the last two hours of the holiday. Are you joining me?" she asks when she wears bikini. "I have to pack. When I finish, I'll come," I say when I fold my clothes. "Okay, see you," she says and left. I am thinking about the last two weeks. About Sakis, who I liked at the first sight. And about Marc. About the guy I was following on TV and social networks. About the guy I was really in love with. I get tears in my eyes when someone knocks on the door. I open them and I see Sakis standing there. "I have a break," he says and smiles. I know what that means. In the last few days, we have been meeting for a quick sex during his 20-minute break. We always use protection. I smile and let him in. "This will be our last," I say before he kisses me. "Please, don't remind me," he says when he takes my shirt and bra off. He puts on a condom and sucks my nipples. I am wearing a skirt, so he moves my panties away, and he lifts me in his arms and leans me on the wall. He push his dick deep in me and we do that for the last time. In five minutes we're done. "I will miss you," he says and we kiss passionately. That was our last kiss.
*MONTH AND A HALF LATER*
I drank the third herbal tea that my granny cooked to me. I really don't know why I have to get sick during the holidays. Today, when I could go with Vicky at her cousin party, I feel very bad. I don't have appetite, my head is spinning and I spend the most of the time throwing on the toilet. I'm lying in bed and I feel sorry for myself, when my best friend visits me. "Hey, how is my patient?" she asks and hugs me. "Bad. It's probably a flu," I say when she sits next to me. "You think? What symptoms do you have?" she asks. "I feel very sick, I throw up every half an hour, my head is spinning, I can't eat anything. I can drink only a tea," I say when everything starts spinning around me. I close my eyes and take a deep breath. It's better after a few minutes. "What about your period?" Vic asks. I take my menstrual calendar from the nightstand. "A week ago I should get it," I say and give it to her. "Awh, and my boobs hurt me a little," I add when I sit up. "I'm sorry, friend. But you have all the symptoms of pregnancy," she says and stands up. I laugh: "You're kidding, right." Vic starts walking around my bed: "Just think a bit. You have all that symptoms when you we're pregnant for the first time. Do you remember when we all thought that you had a flu? You are going to do the pregnancy test and it will be clear immediately," she says seriously. "Fine, I need to go to the pharmacy," I say. "Everything is already arranged. I bought it on my way to here," she says and pulls out of the bag the box in which the test is. "Go to the bathroom and pee on that stick. You know how it goes," she says and puts tester in my hand. I wouldn't go if I wouldn't be getting really bad again that I have to throw up. I rinse my mouth with water and then I make a decisive step. I pee on the tester and then the longest five minutes are ahead of me. I hear that granny brought a new tea again and that she's talking with Vicky. I'm sitting on the edge of the bathtub and waiting. When lasts five minutes, I take a look on the tester. I see a dark colored plus. My heart fell into my pants. "Ava, it's been five minutes," Vicky says at the door. I step into the room with the tester in my hand. Vicky looks at me questionable. "It's positive," I say quietly and start crying. Vicky rushes to me and hardly hugs me. When I calm, we sit on the bed. "You know who dad is, right?" friend asks me. "I'm afraid it can be both of them," I say quietly. "You were unprotected with both of them??" she almost shouts. "I didn't use protection with Marc. We always watched. With Sakis we always use a condom, except..." I shut up. "Except what??" Vicky is impatient. "That night in his room. I can't remember. I was drunk. There is a possibility that we weren't use a condom," I say. "We will find out only if you call him," Vicky says and gives me a phone. "Are you crazy?! Should I call him and say that there is a possibility that he's father of my baby?!" I shout. "No, ask him if you used a protection that night. Come on, call him," she insists. I grab the phone and call him. It rings for that long that I almost hang off, when he answers the call."Ava, hey. How are you?" he asks. I smile when I hear his voice. "Hey. Oh, I'm coming down with the flu, but I'm fine. How are you?" I look at Vicky, who rolls with her eyes. "I miss you," he says. "I miss you too. Emm... I would like to ask you something. I was thinking a bit and... did we use a protection that night when we first have sex on your room?" I ask directly. He laughs: "Of course we did. Baby, we never have sex without protection. You can't forget that night, huh?" he asks. "Actually, I really can't. Well, thanks. I won't bother you. You're probably at work. It was nice to hear you," I start saying goodbye. "Yeah, I'm working. Get well soon. I miss you a lot," he says and then I hang up the phone. Vicky looks at me. "It's not him," I say and Vicky smiles to her ears. She applauses and hugs me: "You have to tell Marc."
"Are you crazy? No way. I'll raise this baby by myself. Marc will never find out," I say and stand up quickly. Everything spins around me again and Vicky catches me in the last time. "Take a sit," she says and I take a sip of tea. "Fine, it's your decision but I think that he has right to know, that he is going to be a dad," Vicky insists. "Yeah, you're right. But I really don't want to ruin his career. Racing is his life and he's amazing in that," I say and I caress my invisible, flat belly. "He won't be the first or the last racer with a baby. It is dangerous, but you can drive with a bus and you can get an accident. Think overnight." I nod: "I have to tell my family first." Vicky smiles: "Know only that I am always here. And that I am happy for being aunt to little Marquez."
Next day I call my gynecologist and make an appointment. Luckily she's not too busy, so I'll have to go there next day.
I am sitting on the dining room, eating a sandwich and my granny just pours me a coffee. The family still doesn't know about pregnancy. "The flu passes you quickly, right?" she says when she sits next to me. I nod: "Thanks to your tea, I guess." We both laugh. I know that she is going to be very happy for me having a baby. She really enjoys when she takes care of my little brother. They go for a walk, they cook together, feed animals. I finish with my sandwich and coffee. "I'm in a hurry. I'm going out with Vicky," I say when I stand up and kiss her goodbye. "Thanks for the breakfast," I say at the door. I drive to Vicky, who accompanies me to the gynecologist. We're right on time, when we enter an empty waiting room. We are sitting for a minute, when a young couple gets out of the doctor's office. Future happy parents. I smile at them. "Last month," sweet redheaded young woman says and caresses her huge belly. "Ava Garcia," older nurse calls. "Yes, that's me," I say and stand up. "I'll wait here," Vicky says watching a magazine for preggies. I step into a doctor's office, where my gynecologist greets me. "Please, lay here and raise yours hirt, to let us see your treasure," she says smiling. She smudges a cold gel on my belly and starts with examination. I look at the screen and wait. "Oh, here it is. This tiny dot. This is your first month and if everything is going to be okay, you'll give a birth early in April. The final date we'll calculate on the next appointment," she says nicely. I got tears in my eyes. This tiny dot is our treasure. This is my and Marc's baby. "Congratulations, Ava," doctor says when she gives me an ultrasound photo. "See you next month," she says. "Thank you very much," I thanked and walk back to the waiting room. "I'm back," I say to Vicky, who's still reading the same magazine. "Oh, I haven't seen you. This magazines are so interesting," she says smiling. "Look," I say and show her an ultrasound photo. "Oh my god. It's so beautiful. Congrats, Ava," she says and squeezes me in a hug.
After lunch the whole family in gathered on the terrace. "I would like to tell you something," I say and stand up. "It's something wrong?" mom worriedly asks when I smile: "Actually it's not. Everything it's perfect."
"What is it? Tell us," Ela says. I take a yellow envelope with an ultrasound photo out of my bag. I show it to my family. "I am pregnant," I say when mom and granny start crying. "This is amazing," mom says and hugs me. I cry too. Everyone hug me, everyone is happy.
"Who's dad?" granny asks. "The guy, who I met in Greece," I say carefully. "He's Greek?" dad asks. I shake with my head: "Spanish." I look at Ela who smiles: "It's Marc, right?" I nod. "Which Marc?" dad asks again. "Maybe sounds unbelievable, but it's Marc Marquez," I say proudly caressing my belly. "He already knows? Will he admit it?" Yeah, dad again. He's very protective and he is very worried about us. "Actually, he doesn't even know yet," I say quietly. "He'll know soon," Vicky says when she joins us on the terrace. "Alex invites us to his grandpa birthday party. Tomorrow afternoon," she adds. I stare at her quietly. I am not going anywhere. Marc is with his ex-girlfriend again and I am not prepared to see him. Maybe in couple months. Or years. I can raise my child by myself. "I am not going anywhere tomorrow," I say to Vicky when we walk in my room. "Of course you'll go. I promise to Alex that we both come. He really misses us. And Ben will be there too," Vicky says when she sits on the armchair next to my bed. "What about father of my baby? Is he almost looking forward to our visit?" I ask frustrated and close my eyes. "Uhm... he doesn't even know we're coming," she admits. I knew it. "Whatever," I say and I breathe deeply, because I feel dizzy again. "You already know what to wear?" she asks me. I open one eye and look at her: "A potato bag." Vicky laughs: "Don't pretend that you don't care. You're coming with me, even I have to lock you in the trunk." I shake with my head: "No way!"
"I am more stubborn than you, you know that, Ava. By the way, today I was passing by the preggy shop and there was an amazing dress. It would really suits you," she says while she taps on his phone. "Look, I took a photo," she says and shows it to me. "Aha, cute," I say with no interest. "It's for a belly, that I still don't have. It doesn't even notice that I am pregnant," I add. "Yeah, but we all can notice your boobs. They are already getting bigger, you know," Vicky laughs. "Since when do you look at my boobs? I thought you're into men," I laugh back. "Sorry, hun. But you really can't miss them. They are already bigger than mine. Marc will fall dawn on his ass when he'll see you naked," she laughed like crazy. "Okay, we come to a dead end now. We were talking about the dress, Vicky," I say seriously.
At the end I decide to go to Alex's (yeah, and Marc's) grandpa birthday party. Because the belly is not visible at all, no one will even know that I'm pregnant. I dress myself in nightdress, lay in bed when I receive an SMS. It's Vicky: Party starts at 2 pm. I'll be there at noon. My uncle will drive us there. Night xxx
I text her back when my little brother comes into my room. "Can I sleep with you tonight?" he asks, wearing a Spiderman pajama. "Sure," I say smiling. He lays next to me and quietly asks: "Do you really met Marc Marquez?" I nod and smile. "What about Jorge Lorenzo?" he asks again. "No, there were just Marquez brothers," I say and caress his head. "Mhm, Marc's brother is Alex, just like me," brother nods. "Ava?" he says after a while. I look at him questionably. "Is it true that Marc is dad of your baby?" It is? Of course it is. I still find it hard to believe. Brother is staring at me and waiting for my answer. "Yes, Alex. It is true," I say quietly. Alex yawns: "It's pity that is not Jorge. He's better," he says sleepily. I smile when I remember Marc's words. "You know what? Marc promised to me that he'll get us VIP tickets and that he'll take you to Jorge's garage. You'll meet him and the whole his team." Alex's eyes sparkles and he lifts up immediately: "Really? He'll do that??"
"He promised," I say smiling. "Whoa!! Great!! Can't wait! When you see him, please tell him that I like him for 10 % more," Alex says happily. "I'll tell him. But now it's time for sleep. It's late," I say when he lays back to me. "Thanks, Ava. Good night," he says, kisses my cheek and caresses my belly. I squeeze him closer to me and then we fall asleep.
