Chapter 4

“I’m Luke!”, the boy with the blonde hair said. Suddenly I couldn’t say anything anymore. It felt like there was something in my throat. I start coughing, really hard. It doesn’t stop, it only gets worse. “Ha ha ha, ha ha ha”. Luke just stands in front of me and laughs, he even gets on his knees and starts rolling on the floor while holding his stomach. “Ha ha ha ha ha”, it echoes through the elevator …

I wake up sweating and panting. What the hell was that? I figure to just ignore that weird nightmare and look at my alarm clock. It’s currently 9am. That means I have to hurry to get breakfast in the cafeteria. I take my yoga pants and put on a navy oversized sweatshirt. My brown long hair with blonde tips is tied into a messy bun and I put on a little mascara, just to look at least a little decent.

By the time I leave my room it is 9:30. With a push on the button next to the elevator, it immediately arrives and I step in. When I step out in the basement again I can already hear students chatting and laughing. I enter the cafeteria and spot the breakfast bar. I decide to go for a healthy breakfast and take an apple, some yogurt, cinnamon apple oatmeal and a glass of orange juice.

When I stare around the hall I can’t seem to find an empty table. Unfortunately, I also don’t know anyone yet either, so I can’t just take a seat next to a stranger. Suddenly someone calls my name.

“Reese!”, a male voice shouts.

I turn around and look around the cafeteria again.

“Reese, here!”, he yells again.

I finally spot the guy and am surprised to see Luke waving at me with a smile plastered on his face. I feel the heat gathering in my cheeks and make my way to his table.

“Uhm.. hi”, I say while smiling at him shyly.

He moves closer to one of the other guys, that I recognize from the laundry room, and pats next to him, where he just sat.

“You can sit here, with us. I mean if you want to. You just looked so lost.”, Luke suggests.

I gladly take the seat next to him and thank him.

“Thank you. You really saved me there.”, I laugh and all the guys join in.

“Reese, this is Michael, Michael this is Reese”,

“Hi, nice to meet you Reese!”, the guy with black and pink hair beams at me.

“Nice to meet you too.”, I respond and smile back at him.

“This is Calum.”, he points at a brunette boy with two tattoos right beneath his collar bones.

“Hey, nice to meet you as well”, he answers with a little smile.

“Nice to meet you Calum.”

“And this is Ashton”, Luke tells me.

“Hey, nice to have you here at our table. We are all really nice guys. Especially Luke here.”,and with that said he winks at me.

When I look at Luke, he is showing his middle finger to Ashton and mouths Fuck You. I promptly have to laugh and am joined by Michael, Calum and Ashton. The rest of the breakfast, the boys kept on teasing each other, but mostly they teased Luke. I don’t know why though, but what I know is that I really like those four boys. They are so entertaining and weird, but honestly really cute. I just feel so comfortable around them, like I’ve never felt before and it is as if I knew them for ages, even though I just got to know them two hours ago.

I’m pulled out of my thoughts when Luke asks me something.

“Hey, Reese? Are you listening?” ,

“Uhm.. yeah. Sorry”, I stifle a laugh.

“Would you like to spend the day with us? We were thinking about maybe going to Central Park or just explore the city”, Luke suggests while smiling at me widely.

“Sure, why not”, I tell all of them with a grin and am immediately pulled into a group hug.

I choke for air while trying to speak.

“Guys! I need air”,

“Oh, yeah. Sorry Reese, you’re just so small.”, Ashton laughs and pats me on my head. I start laughing as well and together we all walk to the elevator. However, Luke and Calum end up having a race, to see who is faster....
