Fifth.

I swished my feet through the bubbly water. My body felt loose and relieved to finally soak in some liquid.

My eyes were recovering from extreme dryness. I felt dizzy and weak. My vision was blurry. I needed water. Lots of it.

I leaned my head on the edge of the bathtub.

This would be my first day in the new house. And of course, I craved water from the second my eyes opened. As soon as I lifted my back from my mattress this morning, I darted into the bathroom with a dying sensation. It felt like I had been sitting in a desert for days and my life was highly at stake. My mouthed was quenched and my lips were crisp. I suppose if one were to live in water from birth, they would be desperate for the substance when deprived of it for long. And that's how I felt.

I sighed with my eyelids gently shut. My back slid down into the water until my entire torso was engulfed in flowy goodness.

"Faye!" I heard a faint voice from above the water. My head shot out from underneath, and I directed my attention to the visitor at the cracked bathroom door.

"Yes?"

"I'm sorry to interject but your room mate has arrived. Would you like to come introduce yourself?" Mad'am Crouche alerted me. She was a tall woman in her 60s with a long white dress on and a little blonde bun at the back of her neck. Her accent was noticeably different from anyone I'd ever heard. It was called 'British' as I'd been told. Anytime I needed something, she would come to my aid. In this case, she needed me.

"Yes Mad'am. I'll be right out." She closed the door lightly. I jumped out of the bubble bath, grabbed my white towel which hung over a wall hook, and slung it around my body. My jumbled fingers situated the cloth to my chest as it hung over my "inappropriate nudity" as the rule book had titled it.

Yesterday, I'd spent most of the night at the long white desk in the corner of my new room reading a 200 page rule book in dim lamp light. The rules didn't seem too hard to adjust to and quite reasonable. That was, except for the no naked rule.

I exited the bathroom with rapid steps and turned left down the hall. As soon as I turned the corner, I bumped straight into another body that seemed to come around at the exact same time.

"Oh, sorry Ma-", my words were halted as I looked into the eyes of an unfamiliar person.

"No it's fine. We'll have to get used to this anyway."

It was a woman. She had light yellow hair and fair skin. Her face was painted just as the front desk lady's was only this woman seemed a lot more tolerable. Her eyes were a shadowy grey and her lips colored shimmery pink. Her shoes stood high on stilts, leveling her with the sky.

She stuck her hand out for me. At least I knew what to do this time.

I grabbed her lingering appendage and bobbed it up and down gently.

"Reeta," she spoke softly.

"What?"

"My name is Reeta," she smiled.

"Uh, Faye." My voice was soft and timid, resembling the base of my personality.

"That's lovely," she complimented. We stood in silence for what seemed like forever just wandering our eyes about the room until the tension finally got to her. "Well uh, nice meeting you. I'll let you get dressed. We'll be spending a lot of time together soon, so hopefully I'm not too distasteful for you," she winked at me before brushing past my shoulder with her large bags full of belongings.
