Chapter 5: Gone

I sat down on my couch. Grayson had told me that he didn't want me to think too much about today. I had to admit that it had made an impact on me. The twins were always such goofballs. Their videos were so positive and not serious. Of course the 'You are not alone' video was different but I just never would have thought that one of them could have a meltdown like that.

I shook my head a little. No I had to move on and get it out of my head. I took out my phone, opened twitter and saw a new tweet from Grayson.

"Feeling lost is the worst."

Well, going on twitter wouldn't really be the solution to getting it out of my thoughts, I guess.
YouTube would probably be a better idea. I picked a couple of the twins' goofiest videos, got some chips and sat back.

After I finished watching I immediately felt better. Humming Enter Galactic by Kid Cudi I walked to my bedroom.
I sat down on my bed. What now? After thinking for a while and staring at the wall something bubbled up in my thoughts.
I couldn't quite wrap my head around it. Then all of the sudden I remembered.    
Where was my dog?
Normally she greeted me at the door whenever I came home, which she didn't do this time.
My heart was beating fast as I walked to the living room.
I whistled. She didn't show up.
I looked in every other room in the house, where was she?
Now my heart was now really pounding. Maybe she had gotten out this morning! I ran outside, called her name, looked under cars but it was all for nothing.

I felt so desperate and my first instinct was to call my mom. Of course she wouldn't know where our dog was and she would probably only get mad. Maybe she knew some sort of solution though. I just wanted to talk to someone. I was already taking out my phone when someone behind me called my name.

I turned around.
There was Ethan, he had car keys in his left hand and in his right "Oh, thank god!" I said. In his right hand he was holding my dog on a leash. I kneeled next to her and petted her while she was trying to lick my face.
I looked up to Ethan "how did you find her." Ethan also kneeled and said "she was standing right outside the restaurant. I didn't have much time so I just took her with me, my dad loved her!"
"I was so worried" I said with a sign.
"Yo, she's fine" chuckled Ethan and he put his hand on my back.
Immediately every nerve in my body was like "Oh my god!"
Ethan rubbed his eye with his other hand "I guess she followed us all the way to the restaurant."

"Yeah she doesn't like to be alone." I said. Ethan stood up and smiled "does anyone?"
I laughed and stood up as well "I don't" "Me neither" said Ethan "good thing I always have that Grayson kid around."

I grabbed the leash and hesitated "do you wanna come in?"
"Sure!" Ethan said.
We came inside, I gave my dog her food and me and Ethan walked to the living room.

"Now, you mentioned it..." I said while I made some lemonade for us "Where is 'that Grayson kid', aren't you guys, like, never separated?"
"I asked if he wanted to come but he was kinda weird about it. I guess he stayed home because he wanted to ask dad about the surgery." Ethan said while hopping on the counter. "Actually..." he continued "I think I'm gonna call him to ask what's up, we was really being weird."
He opened Siri, said: "Call 'Gray'" he put his phone on speaker and shook his hair out of his face.
