I got this idea from Anna, the writer of the After series, so I'm going to start putting songs that I listened to while writing my chapters at the beginning of the chapter. Today's playlist consisted of three setlists from a concert I went to this weekend so basically just anything of off We The King's Art of War album, any of This Century, and this band local to my area called The Real Hooks. Enjoy!

Chapter 6

The first night on our little getaway was spent eating pizza and watching movies, something we hadn’t gotten to do in so long since Niall had been on tour. It was so innocent and sweet, I could hardly bare it. It felt like I could finally relax there on the couch with his arms holding me to his side. His fingers traced small patterns on my side, easing the tension I hadn’t realized was constricting my muscles. I could breathe, really breathe, for the first time in months. I hadn’t realized how lonely him being on tour had left me until that moment and I couldn’t stand it any longer. It was like a weight crushing my chest, I had to relieve it or I was sure it’d destroy me.

I turned around and caught him off guard by planting a line of kisses against his jaw line. He sat up and pulled me into his lap, latching his arms around my waist. I wrapped my arms around his neck and tangled my fingers in his blonde hair when he took charge and crashed his lips into mine. I couldn’t contain the sigh of content that escaped my mouth. It had been too long since we had been together, too long since we had been able to even kiss without anyone around to mock us, too long since we had just been alone.

My memory gets foggy from there. There was a lot of running around the condo and squealing from me and a lot of laughter from Niall as he tried to catch me before we crash landed in the bedroom. I’m fairly sure a pillow fight broke out sometime around then. Next thing I knew it was morning and I woke up in only my underwear and the blue v-neck Niall had been wearing last night. I smiled when I heard his light snores coming from next to me in the bed, my heart melted when I looked over and saw him asleep beside me, one arm thrown across my stomach while the other hung of the edge of the bed. I wanted to lay here and watch him sleep, but thought better of it when my stomach decided to let out the world’s loudest dying whale sound. Niall shifted in his sleep, making me cringe in fear of him waking up to me staring at him. My fear subsided when a small grin crossed his features and he relaxed against the mattress again.

In the end, I let my hunger win as I wiggled free of his arm and slipped out of bed. The cold tile floor sent a shock through my body when my bare feet came in contact with it, but I powered through and ran for the kitchen. It wasn’t until I was searching through the cupboards that I realized we still hadn’t gone shopping and didn’t have any supplies to make any breakfast. So I did the next best thing; I heated up the leftover slices of pizza and poured two glasses of water. Using a tray I found in one of the cabinets, I gathered my breakfast and carried it with me back to the bedroom. Niall was sitting up in the bed, rubbing his blue eyes when I walked in.

“Good morning sunshine!” I chirped when I sat the tray down on the white painted nightstand beside our bed. I hopped onto the mattress and kissed his cheek, causing a smile to stretch across his face. “How’d you sleep?”

He chuckled, running a hand through his floppy bed-head. He was probably the only person I knew who woke up with flat hair instead of hair that stuck out in every direction. “Clearly not as well as you. What’s put you in such a good mood so early?”

I shrugged. “Just being here with you. I missed you.”

He reached out and tucked my hair behind my ear, a gesture I hadn’t realized I craved as much as I did until he wasn’t around to do it any longer. “I missed you, too. So much. Touring isn’t the same without you. There isn‘t anyone to cuddle or share a bed with. I missed that, just sleeping next to you.”
