Louis's P.O.V.

Hayley and I had been at the diner with Trisha for about an hour now. We had all been talking and laughing for almost the whole time. Trish seemed like an amazing woman, she would have been a great mother for Hayley. I could see her being my mother in law, then me, Hayley, and our daughter would come and visit. She could come to some of me and the boys' shows, and while our baby was young enough, she would come on tour with us. Everything would be perfect.

"Trisha, may I have a word with you outside?" She nodded and we walked through the doorway and into the cool, Michigan air.

"What did you want to talk to me about?"

I shoved my hands into my pocket and sighed nervously. "Hayley and I are starting a family. I love her to death, and we are definitely right for each other. I know that we have only been together for a few months, but I just think this is right. I want to ask for your permission to marry her." I glanced upward to see her smiling down at me, with a sweet, motherly sense.

Trisha grabbed my hand and chuckled. "Louis, no need to be nervous. I wouldn't want anybody else to marry my daughter. I can see you and Hayley together and in my eyes, it looks like a match made in heaven. Welcome to the family." Her smile broadened, and mine did in sync.

I hugged her so tightly, which took her by surprise, but she hugged back. "Thank you so much." I muttered out.

"It's my pleasure. Now let's get inside before she gets suspicious." We walked back inside, smiles plastered to both of our faces.

"So what were you two talking about, hm?" Hayley asked as we sat back down in our booth.

"Oh," Trish and I exchanged glances and smirked. "nothing."

She looked at us weirdly, until Trish thought of a good way to change the subject. "I wish I had been there for more of your life, Hayley. I regret missing your best years."

"Oh, mom, it's okay. You had another family to take care of." My eyebrows furrowed at her comment. What? I never knew Trisha had another family.

"What?"

"I had another child in England about your age." I nodded my head understanding everything now.

Just then, a thought occurred to me. Hayley would love this, and it would bring us closer as a family. She could help out with Hayley's pregnancy, too. "Trisha, I have a great idea. Why don't you come down to LA and visit for a while."

"Yeah, mom, that's a great idea. I need another woman in the house who knows how painful it is to carry the weight of another person. My friends Lauren and Madison are great, but they don't really know how hard this is."

Trish chuckled and shook her head. "I would love to visit you guys, but are you sure it's okay? I don't want to intrude."

"It's no problem." Me and Hayley said simultaneously. All three of us laughed at our similar thoughts.

"Well, alright, then. When should I come?"

"Is next week okay?"

"Yeah that's fine."

Me and Hayley had come back to LA after a few more days in Wholes Town. Trish would be coming in about three days, and I still had yet to tell the lads about my decision to propose to Hayley. I was about to gather them for my announcement.

'Get down to my place' I group texted the lads. The girls had gone out to get their nails doe or something. They wanted to make Madison feel better after what happened between her and Niall. They had been so distant after they found out about the pregnancy. I'm sure Niall was only staying with her because she was carrying a child.
