Group Chat - Space is cool
Sat. 8:00 AM
Lance: GUYS! Where are you???

Pidge: We're at the cafe. Where are you?

Lance: Uh I just woke up. But I'll be there soon.

Sat. 8:15
Lance: OMW

Lance quickly got ready and rushed out the door to meet his friends. He was able to walk to the cafe that was on campus. "Guys! Spring break!!" He exclaimed excitedly as he took a seat next to Hunk. "Any plans??" He grinned.

"Um, I'm going to Allura's over the break." Shiro offered. "I'm going to meet her parents."

"Haha! You must be nervous, huh?" Lance teased "This is a huge deal! The parents opinion on the boyfriend are very important."

"Oh stop Lance. I'm sure they'll love him." Hunk said, giving Shiro a reassuring smile.

"Yeah. He has nothing to worry about." Pidge stated matter-of-factly. "Also, my brother is coming back from a year long trip to space. So I'll be home for sure."

"Cool! Well, what about you Hunk? Ol' buddy ol' pal?" Lance turned to his best friend.

"Oh, well actually, my aunt is coming in from Hawaii. I'm going home to see her. Plus she's making us lots of Hawaiian dishes and I would never miss that!" Hunk explained, sitting back with a content smile. Lance turned to look at Keith whom had been quite since he arrived.

"What about you, mullet?" He asked raising an eyebrow.

"I'm, I... don't really have any. Why?" He shrugged half-heartedly.

"Well, my mom asked why I never bring anyone special home during breaks like normal kids and told me I should invite someone. I forgot I had promised I would until she texted me something about it this morning. Wanna come name with me?" He said a little fast.

"Are you sure she meant just a friend? It kinda sounds like she meant a girlfriend... " Keith questioned with a raised eyebrow. He really didn't want to go on a trip with someone as annoying as Lance in the first place. He certainly wouldn't want to go on one pretending to be his boyfriend. That's just gross and weird. But Lance is probably straight anyways, right? Look at all the chicks he flirts on.

"Um, no. I'm preeeety sureee my mom would've been more specific if that was the case." He stated, squinting at Keith.

"Well... okay then. I mean... I don't really like you... at all. But I also don't have any plans. And it gets boring here alone. Plus you should keep your promise, right?" He said unsure of himself. Something told him he was going to regret this later.

"Great! I mean, uh, cool. I won't like this either. But I do need to keep my promise. It's to my mom." Lance had lied. He was really happy Keith had agreed to go with him. Sure, they fight  and are extremely competitive, but in a good kind of way. They were still friends, or so Lance liked to think. He hated the fact Keith had nowhere to go on breaks and stuff. He was actually telling the truth about his promise, but had wanted to ask Keith to go home with him before that. Thanks to his promise he had the perfect cover up.

After Keith agreed the friends talked for a while about various topics before parting ways. Everyone went back to their dorms to finish packing and getting ready for the break. Everyone was either leaving that afternoon or the next morning. A few students left early or later or just didn't leave at all. Lance texted Keith all the info he needed. They would leave Sunday morning for the drive to Lance's home.

As soon as Keith got back to his dorm he freaked out. Why on Earth had he agreed to this? He spoke without seriously thinking about this. He knew very little about Lance and less about his family. He also lacked experience with real families. Not to mention his anxiety and other mental health issues. He had already began to regret this. "Well no way out now..." He mumbled to himself. He began to pack the things he would need for the following two weeks as his mind ran wild with scenarios. That night Keith had even more trouble sleeping than usual.
