I stared at the fan as it slowly turned above me, the sweltering air around it barely effected. The room alone seemed 1000 degrees and I lifted my hand in a feeble attempt to fan myself.

"Ni it's too hot!" I sigh as I see my blonde headed Irish boyfriend enter to room.

"It's not that bad babe," he says back, plopping down on the creaky couch beside me.

I groaned and scooched away from him. "What? Do I stink or something? Come on I gotta leave for two weeks tomorrow..." I sighed.

"I know, it's just too HOT!" I grumbled crossing my arms and laying my head back. Niall moved closer to me, "Niall it's hot, and you're not helping!"

"What are you saying Tay? I'm hot?" He said softly, leaning in close to my ear. I swatted him away.

"I never said that," I said in a challenging voice as I stood up from the springy seat. I wandered into the kitchen, the tile cooled my feet as I stepped over it. Staring out the window over the sink I watched as the clouds seemed to grow thicker, the bright blue sky turning grey at the edges. "Why'd you leave?" A thickly accented voice said from behind me as he wrapped his arms around my waist, dropping a kiss on my neck. Ignored his question and turned around to face him and looked into his gorgeous eyes.

"It's gonna rain," I whispered, a smile playing at the ends of my lips. Niall looked past me and out the window, a breeze blew in cooling us off from the intense heat. "So it is. Come on babe, I have an idea."

He offered me his hand and I blushed and took it. "Such a gentleman," I commented as I watched him break into a cheeky smile. He ushered me to the back screen door and I heard it slam shut behind us. The sky had grown to a grey blue, the clouds that had been a vivid white just minutes ago had turned to a slate grey. The summer grass was bright green and tickled my bare feet as Niall led me to the patio furniture that sat in the back corner of the fenced in yard.

Once we reached it he pulled back a cushioned seat and patted his white shorts clad legs. I sat down on his lap and leaned back into his broad chest, closing my eyes and feeling completely relaxed. Soon, a fat droplet of rain hit my arm. I opened up my eyes and stared at the darkened sky. Thunder rumbled off in the distance and I shivered. Niall protectively wrapped his arms around me, pulling me closer. Thunder had always made me nervous.

"Nothing's gonna hurt you babe," he whispered into my brown hair. "Not as long as I'm here."

I smiled. "Then let the rain fall."
