I slammed my locker shut and groaned. A voice behind me chuckled, "What's the matter?" I turned to find my boyfriend Timothy standing there, his blue eyes concentrating on me.
"Oh uhh... Just cheerleading is all, kinda stressed with it." I summed up, he nodded. This was mostly true, but there was also Louis. My clumsy lab partner. Whom there was something different about.
Though we had been dating for almost six months Tim and I's relationship seemed to lack that... Spark that we'd once shared. He waited patiently for me as I gabbed with my friends as we left the brick school but once we were away from him her turned to me.
"What's going on Katelyn?" He confronted me.
Wide eyed I shook my head slightly. "Nothing..?"
"There's something." He mumbled searching my brown eyes.
"Nope nope nope! Everything's super!"
He shook his head, knowing I talked faster when I was lying.
"Please tell me..."
"I-I gotta go. My uhh.. My mom is picking me up. Sorry. See ya tomorrow," I said hurriedly and left a quick kiss on his cheek. I sped off in the direction of the parking lot, acting as though I was searching for my mother.
But I didn't know what I was searching for.
"Hey! Watch o- ," a voice shouted at me.
Textbooks fell onto the gravel lot and a black backpack landed with a thump, spilling it's contents onto the ground.
"Oh no, are you ok? Nothing hurt you right? I'm really really sorry," the voice continued.
"I'm fine, here let me help you," I said getting down in my hands and knees and handing the boy a stray pencil. I looked up to find who I least expected.
"Louis," I whispered staring into his crystal clear eyes.
"I'm really sorry Katelyn, I should've been watching where I was going. Please don't be mad!" He begged.
"It's not your fault," I replied slipping a book into the bag as he got down next to me and began cleaning up what had fallen.
"So what were you running from? You seemed like you were in a hurry." Louis asked, offering me a hand to stand back up after cleaning up the mess. I shrugged.
"Tell me Kate," he said softly.
I cocked my head to the side. "No one calls me Kate," I said slowly. "Except Tim."
"I'm sorry. I just thought it was pretty and it suits you. Not that I'm calling you pretty, I mean you are pretty but not like that. Well you are pretty like that but if only Tim calls you that I better not. I don't want to cause any troubles between you two." Louis jabbered on.
I giggled softly and smiled slightly up at him, "You can call me that,"
He smiled back. "Hey listen... I was wondering what are you doing Friday night?.
I stuttered with my answer, surprised with his forward question. "I've gotta cheer at the game. Why?"
"Oh. Oh yeah I forgot you're a cheerleader. Well I was just thinking of when we could work on our project together. Ya know? I mean whenever works for you works for me. I don't really have many places to be like I'm sure you do with cheer and a boyfriend and... Friends." He said, his words faltering near the end.
"Friends?"
"I don't really have many friends," he stuttered, biting his lip slightly and meeting my gaze.
I paused, "What are you doing tonight?" I asked, for some reason my voice beginning to shake.
"Nothing."
"Come on over around 6 k?"
Louis seemed taken aback by this. "Really?"
"Really."
