Is This Reality?

Chapter 23

Harry is sitting on a hospital bed, waiitng anxiously for news. He is hoping to hear from the doctor that he is okay to be rid of this wheelchair, this barrier. The wheelchair is causing him to not be able to apply for custody of his son, Tommy.

Alaina is sitting patiently in the hall, waiting for the doctor to peak around the corner. She jumps up when seeing him.

"Doctor?" Alaina looks a little worried.

"Yes?"

"Tell me the news."

"We ran some tests on him and he is able to get out of his wheelchair."

"Yes!" Alaina has an uncontrollable smile on her face.

"Just not today."

"What? Why? But doctor, please."

"Calm down! He is not fully healthy enough to walk completely. If he doesn't use the wheelchair anymore, something could go wrong and he could never walk again. He needs to come back, and then he can get rid of his wheelchair. Just not right now. I'm sorry."

"But...okay." Alaina knows how upset Harry will be after knowing this news.

"Would you like to tell him?"

"Yes." With this, Alaina walks into Harry's room and tell him the news...

"I'm sorry, Harry." Harry is in tears.

"What about my son?"

"Harry. I don't know."

"Can I go see him?"

"Are you sure you want to?"

"Yes."

"It won't be tto hard on you, knowing he must stay there, and you must go?"

"I don't care how hard it is. I want to see my son. Now."

"As you wish."

"Thank-you."

"Would you like for me to call them and see when exactly ou could come in?"

"Could I do it?"

"Sure."  Alaina hands Harry her phone.

"I'll call in the car."

"Okay then." Alaina walks behind Harry and she helps him by pushing his wheelchair.

"Do you have the number, Harry?"

"Yes. I got it from Zayn the other day. I only want to take my son home, but I guess that seeing him is a start."

"You're right." With this, Harry dials the number.
