“HI, Vash!”

I looked up only to see Sophie smiling at me. I wonder how did she enter into my office without me noticing it?

Since I couldn't do anything about that anymore, I let it slide.

“What can I do for you, Sophie?” I casually asked.

Hindi kaagad siya sumagot. She sat down on one of the chairs infront of my table. I was simply staring at her .

“I... I'm hoping if I could invite you for a dinner tonight?” Alanganin niyang tanong.

“Hmm... Is there something that we're gonna celebrate tonight?” I counter-asked, trying not to sound cold.

“Maybe there is, maybe there's none.” She shrugs.

Muli akong napatingin sa binabasa ko. I cannot guarantee to be with her tonight. I'm still busy with the paperworks, reviewing the monthly reports that came from other branches. And I'm afraid I have to visit my other restaurants to check everything personally.

“Are you busy?” Tanong pa ulit niya.

“Sort of. That's why I'm thinking if I'm going to accept your invitation.”

“I guess, I'm not asking too much for you to decline it.” She stated in a bit sad tone.

I feel guilty. Sa pag-iwas ko sa kanya, baka nagiging harsh na ako. Parang hindi na maganda 'to.

I looked at her again. She suddenly released a deep breath.

I sighed. “Alright. I'll come.” I announced to get rid of my guilt. I smiled, afterwards.

“Thank you, Vash.” Nakangiti niyang sabi, atsaka  siya tumayo. Mukhang iyon lang talaga ang pakay niya kaya siya naparito. “...I'd better be off now. I'll just wait for you in Il Piacere, 8pm.”

With that being said, she left.

She really likes Italian Restaurants. I shook my head.

IL Piacere.

I thought I'd arrived early. But to my surprise, Sophie was already there. Waiting with a glass of wine in her hand. She greeted me with a sweet smile and I di the same in return.

I drew a chair out and sat down across her. “Hi! Kanina ka pa?”

She put the glass down and shook her head. “No. I just came. Shall we take our order now?”

“Yeah. Sure.”

Siya na ng tumawag sa waiter. Dahil on diet daw siya ay veggie meal ang in-order niya. Samantalang ako naman ay ang pasta.

While waiting for our meals, we've talked about our businesses. She mentioned that she's busy building her own boutique, of course, with the help of Jeia. As expected, she told me things that I'm not interested in listening about.

When our meal was served, our topic changed to recipes and such. Until she mentioned about a recipe that she missed that I used to prepare for her.

“Can you still cook that for me?” She asked pertaining to La Vegan Lasagna Roll-ups.

Without hesitation, I nod. “Sure. I'll just ask Jeia to bring that to you.”

“No, Vash. I want you to come into my house. Cook that for me and we'll watch movie, as what we were before.”

I looked at her in disbelief. As expected, she would surely bring something back that would wave for a starting point. At kahit kailan ay hindi ako nagkamali sa kutob ko.
