The sun was just setting outside when you walked out of your house.Shutting the door behind yourself holding onto you're friends birthday gift in the other. Finding the car keys you walked over unlocking the drivers door. Opening the door you slipped the birthday gift into the passengers seat as you settled in. Starting the car you slowly backed out of the driveway heading to the local party center. Thirty minutes later you found a spot in the crowded parking lot. Shutting off your car you grabbed the keys and the present. Slamming the door behind you making sure you had a decent grip on the present you weaved in and out of the other cars. Reaching the door you opened it stepping into the crowded room.

Spotting your friend you made your way towards her as a body stepped in your path blocking you. Gently coming to a stop before colliding with the person you let out a breath of relief. Looking up you locked eyes with sky blue eyes and familiar blonde hair that was all over the place. Smiling you stepped to the side to place the gift on one of the many gift tables. His eyes never left yours as you placed the gift on the table. Stepping back he pulled you to the side out of the main walk way shoving his hands in his pockets. He started fighting bouncing lightly on both feet as you both went silent before you spoke.

" Hey Nialler " you say running a hand over your hair messing with it

" Hey Ariel , Haven't seen you in awhile how are you" he asks

" I'm doing alright, how was the tour' you ask as he stands still

' It was crazy, but i'm glad to be home with all of our friends agin" he says

" It's been a crazy few years with everyone finishing college " you say

" Did you graduate yet' he asks

" In a few months, then it's the open road " you say

" Cool, Congrats, did you change your major agin" he asks

" No, I'm sticking with children protective agent " you say

" Good, I'm glad, say first dance you save for me " he asks

" Of course Nialler, what are best friends for " you say

" They are for everything, we need to do a skype chat once i get back home, i miss those days" he says

" Of course, maybe with the lad's , i know it can be hard getting them all together" you say

" It not might be a pain, they are all staying at my home for the week " he says

" Fun, i bet it will be a mess when you get back" you say watching a smirk appear

" Of course, this time i locked my bedroom door so nothing like last time " he says

" Oh come on nialler i'm sure harry didn't mean to turn your white comforter like a rainbow" you say

" I know, but he's not allowed anywhere near the washer or dryer " he says

" Liam's rules i bet" you say

" Yes, now let's go mingle we can always talk about that kind of stuff later. He wrapped his arms around your waist leading you towards the big mob. Once you reached your friend he released his hands heading over to get some beer. Moment's later he appeared carrying a wine cooler for you and a draft beer for himself. He smiles at you before going over to the group of lads in the far corner. Watching him as he joins them you wave to your other best mate kale. He waves back as your friend attacks you in a hug.

Spinning around your face to face with your best friend for the past eighteen years. She pulls you into a very tight hug. As she releases you she whispers in your ear " Iv'e seen how he's head over heals for you agin". Taking a step back you nearly choke on your wine cooler as is slips down your through. Coughing it away you drag her away from the crowd to a more quiet area to clear up that rumor for long ago.

" Jas, he's not falling head over heals " you say leaning agint a wall

" Ariel, he is you just haven't had the chance to notice" she says

" Ive only been here for a maximum of ten minutes, but he's with heather " you say

" Correction was with heather" she says

" Oh no, don't tell me she broke it off " you say

" No he did, found her sleeping with matt :"

" Shit, that's not good , when he left he talked to me about marrying her "

" I guess something aren't meant to last " she says

" Now, songs are about to start, go grab him, I know you can cheer him up, ' she says

" I'll try, but i promise nothing" you say finishing your cooler

" It's fine, I know you'll make it through it " she says vanishing into the crowd.

Just as the first song was playing niall found you nearly tripping over his own feet. Knowing the history of niall you knew it didn't take him long to get wasted. He wrapped his arms around your waist pulling you into him as you tryed swaying to the music making sure he wouldn't trip. Ten minutes after two songs you walked him over to a vacant table helping him to sit down. Looking around you spotted a water fountain as you grabbed two glasses from the bar filling them up. Just as you placed his cup in front of him he began speaking. His adorable irish accent would be slurred and it would be kind of hard understanding him.

" I'd diddnnt meann to breakk a promisee" he slurred

" what promise nialler' you asked

" I promisseddd yoouu i woulllld marryyy heather, and i didn't " he says playing with the glass

" I know, people change nialler, best friends stick together untl the end" you say

" thattsss whyy i looveee youu ariel" he says

" Nialler you're drunker then a skunk, let's get you home' you say standing up

Helping him to the door jas catches your eye as you wave car keys in mid air. Slipping out into the cool night you walk over to your car placing niall inside. He fell asleep instantly as you started out in the direction of his home. It's been awhile since you have been back home in ireland but you knew it like the back of your hand. Turning the radio on to add a little background noise niall started snoring. Laughing at him you pull into this driveway. Noticing that the light's were out meant the other lads were either asleep or out for the night.

Shutting off the engine you slipped out walking to the passengers door. Opening the door slowly you prepared to catch niall when his eyes snapped open. Smiling you leaned down to his level to tell him your going to help him. He nodded his head slowly standing up and taking baby steps towards the front door. Niall swayed a little while you worked the key slowly opening the door you noticed the front room empty but the television was on. Niall kicked off his shoes while you slipped yours off getting him ready to walk upstairs. He gently pulled you back as your lips brushed against his he grinned before pinning you against the wall. Moments later he let you go as you slowly lead him upstairs to his bedroom.

Opening the door with the spare key above the doorway you searched the wall for the light. Flicking it on you noticed for probably the first time in a long time his room was clean. There were no piles of dirty cloths, no empty food wrappers, and it smelled pretty good. Leaving the door open you walked him over to his bed. Reaching down to pull back the sheets niall pushed you from behind as you landed on his bed. Turning around you smirked at him ready to yell at him when he pulled the puppy dog look. His bottom lip stuck out as he ran his hands through his hair. Knowing that you could never turn his face down you looked up at him. He crawled up next to you laying down pulling the sheets over both of you.

" spend the night ariel" he pleaded

" Of course niall, night"

Within moments you both were out cold curled up together . His light snoring soon took over the silent room. Wrapping his arms around you pulling you closer to him causing you to sturr a bit. Just as you were shutting your eyes you got a message from jas. Digging inside your pocket you slid the screen on your iphone reading the message. " Thank you so much for the present, talk tomorrow, sleep tight". Quickly sending a reply you curled up to niall . His snoring has stopped briefly as he mumbled some words. " I Will always love you ariel". Leaning over you kissed his cheek " I will always love you nialler'.
