Just Another Walk In the Park

It's been a stressful week of school it was finally the weekend. Usually you would hangout with all of your friends but this weekend they were all busy. Sitting on your bed you turned on the weather station seeing how it would be for the weekend. As the weather lady talked your bedroom door opened as your dog ran in jumping on your bed. Surprisingly Nala didn't lick your face like she would do normally. She just curled up at the base of your bed. Taking it as a sign you went out to the mudroom to grab her leash. Coming back you clipped it onto her collar. Turning around you heard the weather lady say it was going to be a hot weekend high in the ninety's.

Checking out you're outfit in your full length mirror. Quickly changing your capris to shorts you tugged on nala's leash signaling to her it was time for a walk. The sun beat down as you walked to the local park. It seems like everyone in the surrounding towns were here walking their dogs. A lot of dog's were playing in the fields. Looking down at nala you brought along her favorite tennis ball that she loves to play with. Turning toward's the path that leads all around the park including the small fish pond. Nala gently takes the lead dragging you around. Getting you're footing you gently tug on the leash " No nala' you say as she slows her walk.

Halfway into the walk nala picks up speed pulling you behind her. Moments later nala got wrapped around another dog's leash. Stopping you called nala over towards you and the other person. Looking up to see a boy in his late teens . Smiling up you at him while pulling nala over by her collar to straighten her out. The boy moved to get his dog under control as well as both dogs relaxed so did the both of you.

" Hey, I'm Liam, and this is Brit" he says petting his dog

" I'm Leah, and this is Nala" you say picking her up

" Do you walk here often" he asks un clipping brit and tossing a plastic ball into the field

" Only once in awhile, it's a little get away" you say tossing nala her tennis ball

" Where about's are you from Leah" he asks

" I live a few block's over on exchange street" you say

" I'm not from around here, im just visiting friends" he says

" Ohh, needed a break from them? " you ask watching as brit came back

" Ya, just a breather, you know" he says throwing the ball agin

" How old is Nala" he asks

" She's almost a year , at the end of this month' you say

" she's very pretty " he says

" thanks, how old is brit "

" He turned a year last month " he says

" He's flawless " you say

" Hey how about we grab something to eat tomorrow night" he says

" sure, maybe bring you're friends, ill bring one of mine"

" Deal, Say i pick you up around seven"

" Sure, here's my number" you say exchanging phones

*************** The next night***************

As you glance in the mirror for one last time nala is curled up on you're bed fast asleep. " For the hundredth time, you look perfect" Zoey says from the doorway. Sitting down you pull out your dress shoes sliding them on. Reaching over you gently pat nala on her head before grabbing you're purse heading out for the night. Turing off you're light you leave nala in your bedroom for the night knowing she loves sleeping on your bed. Following zoey downstairs the door bell chimes as zoey hurry's to answer it .
