Chapter 29

I followed Shaw's scent down different roads until I saw him at the end of one of a allyway. Why is he here is the bad part of town? This place looks abandoned I wondered. I was walking to the store and I caught his scent and figured what better time to tell him that he has to stop drinking my blood. I walked up infront of him.

"Hi Shaw, I'm sorry to just pop up like this," I started but then I stopped when I realized the frozen look on his face, looking past me into the allyway. I turned around to see Adrian pointing a gun, at Shaw and me. By the smell of it, it is loaded with wooden bullets.

"What are you doing Adrian?" I asked slowly, eyeing the gun in his hand.

"I'm hunting the thing that I came here for, Shaw is a vampire," he told me with discust. "Thats why I asked you to stay away from him."

"Please can we just talk this out rationally," I pleaded. He looks confused.

"Why are you defending him? He's a blood thirsty murdered!" He sneared. "Move out of the way so I can end this finally!"

"I can't! If you shoot him you will kill me also! He drank my blood and a bond formed between us. If he dies I die," I told him. His eyes widened with shock. His hand started to shake, he's scared. He pulled at his hair with one hand the he looked back at us with wild eyes.

"I can't kill you, I won't kill you. End the bond! Tell him that the bond between you and him is over!" He ordered me. I shook my head.

"I won't, I won't move just for you to shoot him, I wouldn't be able to live with myself," I whispered, my eyes becoming blurry with tears. He clenched his teeth together.

"I'm sorry but I have to do this I can't let him walk away. If you won't break the bond then I hope you forgive me Asena," he whispered, in a shaking voice along with his shaking hands and raised the gun. I closed my eyes and waited.

"I Shaw Conner break the bond between you Asena Nightshade," I heard Shaw say from behind me. I collapsed to the ground, it feels like a part of me got torn out. I felt tears run fown my face.

Then a loud bang sounded and I heard a body drop to the ground. I opened my eyes and looked over slowly. Shaw's body is on the ground, blood coming out of his heart. I heard a loud shreak, then I realized it came from my mouth.

I slowly crawled over to him. I grabbed his hand. He's cold, very cold, cold as ice. I started to sobbing. Hot tears are running down my face. I feel sick and cold. Then I felt a hand on my shoulder.

"Asena, please understand that he was a monster, whatever you felt for him it wasn't real," Adrian said softly from behind me. I spun around and pushed him away.

"I don't care what you think! You are the monster here not him!" I snarled at him. His eyes widened and started shaking his head in disbelief. Then I realized something, my eyes are gold. I don't care now. I just don't care. He backed but slowly then spined around and ran off down the ally onto another street.

I looked back at where Shaw should lay but there is just a pile of ash. I cried even more. With blurred eyes I crawled over to the building wall and pulled my knees up to my chest. I sat there, sobbing.

I don't know how long I stayed there, crying until I heard footsteps running towards me. I slowly looked up to see its Xander. He rushed over at me with worry on his face.

"Asena, what happened?" He asked.

"He killed him," I whispered, sobbing. He kneeled next to me and felt my four head.

"Your so cold and your burning up from the rain," he told me gently. It's raining? I wondered to myself and looked up. Rain drops are coming down like bullets. Bullets..... "You can tell me later what happened but right now I have to get out of the cold." He picked me up bridle style and he carried me out of the ally, me sobbing into his neck.
